Something around Giddey + picks + cap space.

To Suns: Towns

To OKC: KD

To Wolves: Wallace + Dieng + Picks

Not bad. I wouldn’t give up Wallace though if were OKC. If the cost is Giddey + picks I’d do that because they or someone needs to pay Giddey. Then they would have two full seasons with KD. He would expire right when Chet and Jalen are due for max deals.

Wallace would be a must. Maybe Wolves would need Wallace and Giddey.

maybe the Wolves don't need to be involved.

I'd love for the Spurs to make a Durant play if that option were reasonably available. He makes way more sense than Trae Young does. Especially if the Spurs could keep Vassell, Durant seems like a great player to put next to Wemby. People may see Victor as potentially the greatest center in NBA history, but he sees himself as a Durant. He could learn so much of the things he wants to be able to do long term. Plus Durant's own career experiences could be just what Victor needs to hear as he is going to face increasing pressure to leave the Spurs for greener pastures.

Probably, this is an "only if Mitchell won't extend but would if they get Durant" trade.

It's a never. In that scenario, you trade Mitchell.

Don't think I'd trade either one for KD, tbh.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Doe Vuc/KD/Demar/Caruso/LaVine count as a real contender for a 2-3 year run? Chicago giving up Ball, Coby, Ayo, Terry, 2024 first, 2027, 2029.. Get top 6-8ish protection on the 2029 first by including the Portland first?

Maybe im off on White? I think that his inclusion makes that offer reasonable for Phoenix but I always liked him more than others and hoped Dallas would buy low. But this season, he flipped that the other way.

Seems possible to stay under the apron if Demar takes 25?

Could be similar to the Sexton sign and trade where they wait for Patrick Williams to be signed by someone if Ball won’t count against their tax level and Chicago just keeps him..

Do the Lakers have the assets? Prob not, but interesting to think

Reaves, Dlo/Vincent, Rui, JHS, 3 1sts (rookie in 2024 draft), 3 swaps

KD got dealt a couple years ago when he was better and without more injuries for 4 1sts, Bridges, Cam Johnson, Crowder, and a swap

Reaves=Cam Johnson?
Rui>Crowder by a bit
4 1sts=3 1sts and JHS. Suns 1sts though are with KD, Booker and Beal, while the Lakers may be a mess in 2029 and 2031

So 2 extra swaps and Vincent/Dlo vs Bridges. Obviously a big difference there, but KD will be 36 next summer and just had a playoff rn last year, a potential one this year, and has accumulated some more injuries since being shipped. He was a clear top 5 guy when dealt and arguably the best player in the playoffs the year prior. He is now clearly not a top 5 guy and having one of his weaker seasons since his first couple of years

Never say never.

SGA
Dort (Wallace)
Jalen
Durant
Chet

Looks like the best hypothetical lineup in the league to me.

I've been telling Suns fans this for months. The best team and most sensible one for KD has always been a return to OKC. It's been well over a decade since he left and you know what solves harsh feelings for all parties? Winning a title.

He can sell it to everyone that he wanted to go home. I think the Suns would do a deal based around Giddey, a number of picks and cap filler (Dort for example). Toss in another young guy or 2 and both sides leave happy.

Playoffs will tell us more but I think this is the way if things go bad this spring/summer.

They don't. Especially after the recent news about KAT's knee. I don't think Booker and KAT are close anymore anyways. The thing with Kendall Jenner killed their friendship.
