Herro and love out for the 2 game trip it sounds like. Herro is dealing with a foot injury, not the knee now, just extremely fragile and injury prone.

It’s a proven fact that Herro in the starting lineup does not come close to producing the most wins, we’ve seen it with him out over the course of 5 seasons and we’ve seen it when he came off the bench and we got the 1st seed. He CAN potentially help lead to wins coming off the bench. Thats the only role for him. And no you dont bench Terry who is the only actual PG in the rotation (unfortunately) to keep Herro starting. Herro needs to be the one moved to the bench

Sure, Butler sandbags it until the all-star break while Herro is trying to score enough to be an all-star. I think there's a huge difference with how both look at the regular season which is on Butler, not Herro.
It maybe the case, but seeding is important in the postseason, especially in the Finals. I don’t think a team can duplicate beating the best teams in their house seasons after seasons. Lightning can strike once sure. So yes it can be on Butler. As far as Herro, me personally will hold on any label until I see more in the post season.
Excuses can be given in many ways and forms. I mean I can say Herro the young player is trying to recreate his way of playing trying to fit in a specific system, just like Robinson has done, but it takes acclamation and absorbing to such specific style. Not every player absorbs in the same timely manner, specially in Herro’s case, he was killing it before the injury and missed a good chunk of games ( a good excuse as any).
He has a big streak of a few weeks at a time nearly each year that he's hot then comes back down to earth. It's year 5 now with the last 3 years of him being handed 16.6 shots a game or more yet the efficiency stays the same. He wants to be an all-star, he's mentioned that in the recent past in videos, he see's himself as one of the top scorers in the league, he's not but he's been given a long leash and since starting with him playing (the last 2 years) Miami has underperformed in the regular season. Then there's the Herro goes down and Miami goes on runs specifically in the playoffs that has to be looked at.
Basically, I think he's a scoring 6th man but you don't pay a scoring 6th man the money he got nor do I think he'd be happy coming off the bench which Barry mentioned on twitter today (lose him mentally). I really believe Miami "tried" to cultivate Herro to a good scorer but it's not happened because of his shot selection which is tied into his ego that he can make those bad shots (maybe one day he will). I'm just pointing out where this high volume, low efficiency, bad defender isn't really helping although it looks like he is because Miami's offense can look bad from time to time and of course he can get hot. I think adding Rozier was the FO retooling the build before the summer for a mini 3 year window while waiting for Jaquez Jr to develop to fully take over Butler's role (even if he's not as good as Butler).

Eerie similar to Herro.
For 5 years now the team has played far better without Herro period or with Herro off the bench. You delusional Herro homers will have to learn one of these days that it’s more than coincidence at this point. We’ve also made multiple deep playoff runs without him or with him off the bench.
Duncan’s a better fit and a better player, we’re here to win not to coddle an overglorified Jordan Clarkson
I think the root of a ton of this has to do with the ball sticking
The team looks better and wins when the ball moves around
You can game plan a seasonal game with no Bam (especially with a hot Yurt), but who thinks a playoff run with no Bam is a good idea...
When it comes to winning without Jimmy or Winning without Herro...come the playoffs...we all only want one of those two getting a steady iso diet.

The ball sticking is only a problem because of Herro's low efficiency, the over problem is his shot selection, if he were to fix that everything comes together offensively for him and Miami. Part of the shot selection leads to the ball being sticky as he hunts for a shot then hands off the grenade when he can't get the look he wanted. He's got a #1 option mindset but not quite the ability and I guess Miami thought it was possible for him to develop the abilities which is probably the best/cheapest asset way of acquiring a #1.
If Herro limited his 2s until he develops better midrange/close game (if he ever does) he'd help Miami's offense be much more efficient and help win more games.
When you look at Herro, he's got a great outside shot which leads to a high 3pt FG% which leads to good efficiency that shows up in your TS%, the issue is that he takes too many inside the arc. He's close to a 39% career 3pt shooter with a current career .556 TS% because for the last 3 years he's taken nearly 10 2s per game.

Re: Miami Heat Regular Season Thread 6.0 -Everything's Gonna Be All Wright
If Herro is about winning a championship he’ll do whatever the team needs.
If you go process of elimination
Jimmy starts
Bam starts
Rozier starts
That leaves two positions open
Obviously Duncan is the best fit and herro can’t play small ball PF
Only way herro starts is if he starts at PG and rozier comes off the bench.
Rozier would be willing to do that cause he’s a winner and will do whatever they ask of him. Is it the best option? That’s another story.

Wizards drilling the Magic by 21, if they don’t pull a Boston we should be 5th seed by the end of the night

Listening to Spo's comments, it seems evident that Jovic has solidified his starting position moving forward. His statement essentially highlighted the dynamic presence of having two players akin to Bam on the court, capable of driving the ball forward, facilitating passes, and accelerating the pace of the game.
This is precisely what I've been emphasizing all along. At times, he looks like Lamar Odom in his ability to accelerate the tempo of the game.

So the Heat signs Patty Mills and waived Dru Smith, interesting.

Not a horrible night for us, Wizards not choking a 21 point lead would’ve made it perfect. Cavs are in trouble, no Mitchell next game as well and Mobley is out for an extended period now. It’s a damn shame the Celtics also choked last night

That, plus all the other stuff he now does is why some posters see no dang reason to just cut him loose to save Micky some tax money.
Robinson is the type of player Bam and Jimmy need around them. Funny how a mere season ago he was the absolute garbage, the useless idiot, the grand money thief lol
Heat fans love those scapegoats and the torch has now been passed down to Herro, and watch Herro kill it in the post season, and suddenly he is Herro the hero amongst us lol
You just gotta ignore it. They just look at surface numbers and ignore context. A simple one I've seem people saying they've had all this success when Herro was coming off the bench and attributing the success to Duncan. Funny how we forget Duncan was also coming off the bench and Max was starting. They point out a bad heat record this season with Herro playing but pretend they all weren't bashing Jimmy for the slow start and blaming it on him. They also conveniently ignore that Herro wasn't there after the losing streak when we went 7-2. It's just a whole lot of people who don't really know ball and pointing out surface numbers or the only thing they understand. Funny how they all watched the playoffs last year and still can't figure the 2 reasons Boston pushed it to 7 and Denver beat us still amazes me.
Not saying Herro is great or elite but you'll never find people who really know sports blaming a ONE player for all the team's faults in a TEAM sport.
