Utah receives: Gabe Vincent, salary filler, pick protections on 2027 pick are changed from top 4 protected to an unprotected swap with the Lakers where the Jazz have the right to swap their worst 2027 pick with the Lakers pick
LAL receives: Jordan Clarkson
Why for Utah: Go from 0% to like... 5% I guess of getting a top 4 pick.
Why for the Lakers: Improve from Gabe Vincent to Jordan Clarkson, pick up a 2027 late first, and gain the option to trade an unprotected 2028 first in a trade this offseason.

Re: UTA-LAL
I'm down with this and it seems reasonable for the Lakers. They actually gain a tradeable pick through this to improve their roster, too, bc now they are gtd. a 2027 1st. I like this a lot.

Re: UTA-LAL
Clarkson isn't the guard upgrade the Lakers are seeking right now and if they get that player, they can slide either Reaves or Russell to the reserve unit.

Re: UTA-LAL
What’s the point of Clarkson? The Lakers don’t have an issue with offense. They have an issue when it comes to defense, particularly on the perimeter (significantly so, due to lack of health in the POA defender they acquired in the summer in Vincent as well as Vando’s health issues all season despite being bigger).
What does Clarkson give them that DLo and Reaves don’t? This is a waste of an asset for LAL. They need to prioritize a two-way wing and need to focus on either getting Vincent healthy or trading him for another similar piece.

Re: UTA-LAL
Would depend on Gabe health. He probably more useful if he can play.
Value wise. Lakers aren’t really giving up anything.
