BULLS
In:Naz Reid
Out:Caruso
WOLVES
In:AC
Out:Reid
1 vs 1... The Bulls get a 4/5 combo that gives them size and I think it would be ideal to start at the 4 along with Vuc/Dru..
The Wolves get one of the best complementary players to win now... who says no? Who should add value?

Re: Bulls Wolves
I'd pass. The Wolves desperately need offence, particularly off the bench, and Naz is one of the few bright spots in that regard. Not to mention that NAW could provide alot of the same skillset that Caruso does.
So basically I'd have Naz+NAW > Caruso.

To Wolves, I have Reid as > Caruso. And if Wolves have plan as Reid = Towns backfill (when Towns traded/injured), to Wolves Reid >> Caruso.

Re: Bulls Wolves
A center who can shoot 3s and drive as well as Reid can is more valuable than a roleplayer guard, even one as good as Caruso. Maybe if basketball stops being a game where a basket is hung 10 feet high the Wolves entertain this offer.

Re: Bulls Wolves
It solves at least 2 Bulls problems. A big man at C or PF, means they could start him if they keep Vucevic, or he's the backup PF-C if they resign Drummond and move Vucevic. It gets Caruso away from Donovan who loves him so much that he's become almost exclusively a PF now and while he makes plays he is just too small at 6-5.
If MINN ever got tired of their twin towers it might be unlikely but I wouldn't mind shipping a van full of players to get KAT.

So the Timberwolves upgrade NAW to Caruso? I'd rather just keep NAW and his poor-mans Caruso and Reid.

Re: Bulls Wolves
The fit isnt great for the wolves. If Naz gets dealt they would need some scoring coming back. Because he provides a bulk of the bench scoring and its already something they need more of with him.
And NAW already fills the same type of role Caruso would. I can appreciate the idea of doubling down on a strength but at some point you do need to put the ball in the hoop too.

Re: Bulls Wolves
I can understand the OP’s thinking, with the idea that Naz is a starter on many teams, and a bench player in MIN. Even with Towns going down, the Wolves have used Kyle Anderson as their starter. But part of the reason is that besides the Rudy-Conley pick and roll, MIN’s biggest offensive engines are Towns and Ant, and they need Naz’s offensive production with the bench unit, especially with Towns out. It would also be tough for MIN a to trade Naz in any deal, because he’s great friends with Ant, and took less to stay in Minnesota. The latter never happens, so trading him away would be a bad look for Tim Connelly and the front office.
And as others have said, the Wolves already have great perimeter defenders in Jaden McDaniels, NAW and Anthony Edwards (when he has the desire/energy to shut someone down). To me, this trade screams for a third team, who would get Caruso and send MIN their PG of the future.
