i thought how fun it would be for us to compare current Magic players to those from the 90s and 00 era, which is when I begun watching NBA and became a true die hard Magic fan.
I'm sure you guys may come up with better comps than mine, but i'll start it off. Feel free to critique my choices.
Paolo Banchero = Chris Webber
Franz Wagner = Keith Van Horn
Jalen Suggs = Doug Christie
Cole Anthony = Troy Hudson
Wendell Carter Jr = Horace Grant
Moritz Wagner = Corliss Williamson
Markelle Fultz = Andre Miller
Gary Harris = David Wesley
Jonathan Isaac = Stacey Augmon
Goga Bitadze = Brandon Haywood
Caleb Houstan = Kareem Rush
Anthony Black = Josh Childress
Joe Ingles = Luke Walton
PG - Andre Miller / Troy Hudson
SG - Doug Christie / David Wesley / Josh Childress
SF - Keith Van Horn / Stacey Augmon / Luke Walton / Kareen Rush
PF - Chris Webber / Corliss Williamson
Ce - Horace Grant / Brandon Haywood
Would this team all in their prime make the playoffs?
Who would you have for your own player comparisons?

I mean it would be a great team with that front court and Andre Miller (super underrated), but the problem with this is i dont see Fultz as that guy. Put a prime andre Miller on this team team with paolo\wagner\suggs\wendell and that bench and we are a top 4 team in the east right now

You are wrong.
We would be top 3, possibly 2. Although 2 might be a reach.

I feel Andre Miller, a non 3pt threat, is a slightly better version of Fultz

The version of Fultz you envision I do not think ever existed.
Andre Miller was good for a long time and could both score, assist, and get to the free throw line more then Fultz.
But we are comparing "Prime Andre Miller" to Fultz what we have now....
I don't think there is a comparison.

Im a big fultz fan and i still agree
Prime Andre Miller was insanely underrated. Sure he wasnt a 3pt shooter, but it was a different era, he didnt need to be, im sure if he knew it was vital to be one, he could of atleast been an average shooter and atleast threatened a defense from back there. Fultz is so scared to shoot that i dont even know why defenses defend him past the 15 ft

Am i the only one here who sees Paolo as the new age Tmac? Never mind the position or their body size, look at their games
They are.big for their positions
They love the middy and they have 3pt range
They are the go to scorers for their teams
They have deceptive speeds and can dunk it with authority
They have the clutch genes

Re: Compare current Magic players to 90s/00s players
I think the comps for Franz and Paolo are due to the fact that they play on the perimeter more than forwards did in the 90's and 00's. We have a size advantage while playing a more perimeter oriented game, if you compare eras.SHAQ32 wrote:eyriq wrote:I'll give it a stab:
