One more game with a different lineup and the next one probably a different lineup will be on the floor again.
Kerr said that he wanted defense in this game and that is why he put TJD in Wiggins place.
It does not make sense imo.
If he wanted TJD to start, the player to replace was Podzemski(or Paul) not Wiggins.
Especially with Curry out.
Paul (or Podz), Wiggins, Kuminga, Green, TJD
This lineup would be a lot better in offense and defense.
I don't understand all this love Kerr has to Podzemski.
He has changed 40 lineups but Podzemski always starts.
Big names and all-stars like Thompson and Wiggins get benched but Podzemski is treated like a cornerstore.
He is a rookie, a 19th pick, he is mediocre scoring 9.6ppg as a shooting guard.
How can Warriors rely to a rookie for the sg position?

Kerr press conference the other day was about how enough data sets are in, so he knows what to do.

It really is worrisome that the coach can say so many wrong things in his post game interviews and it not even make sense.

Kuminga looked like he was playing with a bunch of scrubs out there...do opposing teams even notice CP on defense? Draymond straight out bench-role player when Curry isn't playing.

At this point of the season, Kerr should stop jerking people around in the rotation. There are things that work: Dray, Kuminga, Wiggins starting trio. Bench Klay is a thing. TJD Klay works. Not playing Saric also works. He should be getting people settled into their roles for the home stretch.
With Curry out there will be some changes but that doesn’t mean breaking up the defensive trio that led the turnaround to being a playin team. The Spurs without Wemby should have been a win. Too many wide open threes. Dray Wiggs and Kuminga should have been enough to dispatch them. Talent wise they were better than the Spurs. Coaching wise was a different story.
Same story like the game against the Heat. You look at the lineup on paper. There’s definitely more talent on the Warriors than the team they are playing against. It’s why Kerr lost the World basketball tournament and if it came to playin games the Warriors will most likely get kicked out.

People think Draymond would still be Draymond on another team but I really don’t think he’d have anywhere near the same impact.
Jk was one of the scrubs until the 4th qtr and the game was already done.
Cp is a decent on ball defender but off ball and closing out he’s just useless.

Man this game was a real masterclass in the difference between a good coach and a **** one.
also, I truly love how often we end up just parking JK in a corner like a 3&d

again, if not monty williams kerr would be WCOY hands down.
this loss in totally on him and his inability to have the team playing normal, wise, reasonable basketball.

He's worse than Monty. Monty doesn't have Steph Curry cleaning up idiotic mistakes on a regular basis.

I think a problem the last few years is that Kerr wants to use things like “datasets”, but has no feel for how to do it.

On another team, the offense wouldn't be heliocentric like it is here. Put Draymond on a team without a capable offense, yeah he's not going to be able to elevate them. Still plays excellent defense and can initiate the offense.. those are the kind of things that are universal
Its weird that no one said this stuff about Steph when Draymond sits and the team hovers around .500 with mediocre defense. Not just this year, but the last title year as well

Draymond was bad on defense against the Spurs and his effort, in general, when Curry doesn't play is questionable at best.

I dont think was as bad as he was frustrated. He was giving the stink eye to the other 4 guys on the court. None of the perimeter guys would rotate nor cover space and tjd was basically jumping on any pump fake. At one point, I thought he was trying to get thrown out of the game.

Most other offenses run isolation, pick and roll, drive and kick and dray isn’t really suited for those types of offenses. How many superstars are willing to give up the ball and let dray initiate offense?
The defense will obviously translate.
If we were a .500 team without Steph then you’d have a point. We just lost to one of the worst teams in the nba. A team that hasn’t won when wemby wasn’t playing and it wasn’t particularly close. Hell this year without cp and dray Steph was able to keep us close to .500 and Kerr was really searching but we’ve never had a loss as bad as last night. Even with kd we were a slightly better than .500 team.
Draymond is very important. Has always been our 2nd most important player. But he would struggle in a lot of other situations. Luckily he’s in this situation where he thrives.

The result of this last game is concerning but I wouldn't give up just yet. The team is still adjusting to Steph being out and Kerr hasn't established the lineups without him.

By itself losing is bad. What disheartens me is that after a tough & troubling loss to the Bulls, they came out with such a bad performance, in just about every area of the game, at home, against a team that was just as tired and missing its two best players.
I'd like to find something encouraging in this loss. Can't do it.
I'm unable to find any aspect of this game: coaching, preparation, effort, execution, anything, that isn't actively discouraging. Can't do it.

The biggest issue with this loss was our defense was trash. It seemed like they were getting open 3s every single trip down. The main issue is that we have no shooters other than Klay, but Klay is so bad defensively everyone wants to overhelp to compensate. But Klay needs to play to open up space for TJD or JK or Wiggins. No one else has a quick trigger, is shooting above avg from the 3 point line. Everyone else has slow shots that you can live with taking 3s.

We should not see 2 small guards.
We should not see dray as the best 3 pt shooter on the floor.
We should not see jk as a primary perimeter defender (poa or scrambler)
We should not see wiggs as a pf.
We should not see confusion about whether to play slow or fast.
All things kerr did last game that was wrong, but might be stubborn enough to do again.
