talkathon.com challenge (difficulty level impossible), get the 16th pick to end up in the fourth slot, and the raptors pick in the top 3 of the lotto.

Actually ran a bunch of sims and got the 14th pick to jump to 3rd and the raps pick to move to 4th, so kinda close but also so far and thus no cigar, reversed that would be a double move up.

Luckily the league made prescient changes so you can trade your lotto pick (but have it protected) try to make the playoffs, but fail, have to trade your soon to be free agents, try to still make the playoffs, get injuries, then still have pretty good lottery odds due to the flattened structure. Masai can still come out as a big winner here and be a genius and top exec once again!

All according to plan, nothing to see here move along!

Perhaps, but I believe it's top 10 protected next year too. Jazz can definitely pull that off and probably should. If they convey it in 2026 it should be a higher pick or Ainge might start to be on the hot seat.

We’ll see about that.

About the only team below us that I can see being ahead is next year is obv MEM. But this team was starting to click a bit with everyone healthy and you can bet Masai will spend that cap space to try and make MLSE some Play In or Playoff money.

BKN is barely ahead of us despite all our injuries, there’s a little rumblings of Trae being traded in the offseason and they’ll likely look to mover Dejounte again. CHI will loose DeMar. Ainge already started clearing out some of the guys and I’m sure that will continue in the off season. I can quite easily see us be 10+ in the draft.
