The best version of Josh Jacobs would absolutely be the best all around back we've had in awhile. He just wasn't that guy last year but he also held out all of camp and the Raiders were a complete mess. I understand the bet that Gute is making on him, just wish it didn't have to be at the expense of Jones. Their games would've complimented each other so well.

Jones agent is Drew "show me the money" Rosenhaus, correct? Did that have an impact?

almost certainly but at the end of the day Jones can tell Rosenhaus to shove it if he wants

And then they spent the money on two big FA gets. Now they have flexibility to play around a bit on draft day.

All good in Packerland.
I'm a lil confused why people think (as of right now) the Packers have so much more flexibility going into the draft.

As of right now they still absolutely NEED another Saftey (just don't need 2) and should still be looking to take a RB relatively early to compliment our starter (and for injury protection)

To me backup RB is just slightly less of a priority given Jacobs age but still a need and we just need one less Saftey. That's not a lot of added flexibility

Yeah, they are not in the same ballpark.
Dillon could never pull off a run like this.

If he's washed I can understand not liking it, but if he rounds into form and MLF can unleash him...

Jacobs has great hands in the pass game. That's what separates him from most guys his size. Watching him in 2022 gave me legit LaDainian Tomlinson vibes.

Hope we can get some kind of draft compensation next year for Runyan's deal.

So does Jones.

I'm sure in time we'll find out what exactly the numbers were between what the Packers were willing to pay Jones and what Jones was willing to accept.

My main reason for being bummed about losing Jones is look at his YPC from year to year, pretty special, along with his receiving abilities.

Jones was officially released. Not a post June 1 designation.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Honestly, good. Would rather carry that additional hit this season with the cap jump.

I wouldn't expect the Packers to get any comp picks next year with the McKinney & Jacobs signings

I'd say they're comparable. Jacobs actually had a better catch rate in recent years. Not some freak dual-guy like Bijan that you're gonna throw out there in the slot, but those quick hitters out of the backfield and motioning him out are gonna be a staple in MLF's system. He's not just a screen/dump off guy.

Pretty sure Bakh loves Aaron more than Aaron loves Aaron.

I could not be more thrilled with McKinney signing. Imagine all the times you’ve watched Savage completely misplay balls downfield and now imagine the upgrade of going to someone elite in that category. Such a massive upgrade for our secondary.

We’ve finally replaced Nick Collins. :)

Haven’t seen this mentioned yet but one aspect to the RB swap is that Jacobs is definitely a better ball carrier between the tackles and that might appeal to MLF

I wonder what the Packers are looking for in a linebacker? I doubt the Packers are in on Queen, and he seems likely to be overpaid soon. Some of the cheaper options have already come off the board today. Jerome Baker is available and he's solid, though he seems like he's gonna be pricy too.

One guy who would fill a very specific role is Isaiah Simmons. He's not at all a run defender, but he's maybe the best coverage linebacker available.

That said, I have no idea if that's what the Packers are even looking for.
