Has anyone listed McKinneys 1st year cap hit?

Wanna get an idea for how aggressive they could possibly be filling the SS spot although I'd imagine the play is gonna be to wait ot out at this point and either get a guy for cheap and/or the draft

Didn't see the # for cap hit but they're giving him $25 million in year one cash so I assume it will be sizable. Guter/Ball smartly getting ready for the Love contract to keep the window open as long as possible.

He's a meh CB, but with the new proposed rules that incentive Kickoff returns Nixon could be a big help there but that is alot of $

I like Nixon, so I'm glad they brought him back.

Guessing most of that is window dressing on a one year guaranteed deal, which I'm fine with if that's the case.

I don't love that move, wish they spent the money on an upgrade in the nickel.

Nixon's a mediocre slot corner so I'm guessing the "All-Pro kick returner" status got him an extra couple million. Fine with it I guess.

Nice to have Ballentine back. I thought he was surprisingly competent when he was forced into action.

Getting Ballentine back is solid. At worst now you go into next season with your same CB group returning. Jaire & Valentine outside, Nixon in the slot, and Stokes & Ballentine for depth. Obviously I'd like to add one in the draft but if the value isn't there you don't have to reach

I know that it's fashionable to blame Barry for the Devito, Mayfield, and Bryce Young games, but he was a constant all year. The main difference in those games was the decimated secondary, and they looked really bad. I'm not sure I believe any of Nixon, Ballentine, Stokes, or Owens earned the right to be counted on for regular snaps. Even Valentine is a question mark to me. He wasn't as promising as we sometimes made him out to be. They should sign at least one more DB, probably a safety, AND draft two more on top of that IMO.

All those spots people expected 12-16 draft picks to fill up are rapidly vanishing.

IF Jaire can stay healthy, we have two elite players now with McKinney on the backend of our defense. I like Johnson's potential. Does anyone have confidence Stokes will return to starter quality? Other than that, everyone is replacement level. I agree we should invest significant draft capital to fill out that depth.

Despite room for improving our depth, I still prefer investing draft capital upfront. Defenses that consistently win with 4 man fronts are always playing late into the playoffs. I don't trust that we have that.

Do you mean the those teams picking mid-tier, especially first round? They've filled some Needs via new FA signings?

If so, doesn't that push the later first round even more towards each teams perception of BPA?

No, I meant the people who told me that there was room for 12-16 draft picks and the team needed to trade down. They were/are wrong.

Really sad that Jones left and according to Spotrac we overpaid Jacobs, Xavier and Nixon.

I actually think bringing Ballintine back might mean Stokes is getting cut. Feels like they have enough 4th/5th CBs but still need a starter.

If Stokes is healthy (obviously huge if), I feel like he's going to get the first chance to start. His salary is incredibly low.
