This is poor leadership. Very disappointing. OKC is a young team and have shown multiple times that they were concerned more with stats/awards than winning at the highest stage.

Regardless, Jokic is the MVP and the best player in the league.

what is this Twitter post talking about? there was no "streak" he scored 23 or 20 (can't recall) in his previous game, so no streak of any kind. but yes, it was blatant stat padding to bolster his FG% and PTS, while also getting specifigcally for 30 and ofc - it's unsportsmanlike as well

but a pretty minor issue in the grand scheme of things, hope this was just a one time thing from a momentary frustration and not an actual mindset

I have noticed that he sometimes passes on low porcentage shots when he should take them (end of shot clock etc). He is far from the only nba player to do this. It's anticompetitive.

I assume the Mavs won a.couple of games again, judging by the flooding of Luka content these last few days.

Yes, Tatum and Luka look to be incredibly close.

That’s usually how it goes. Jokic fans is a constant and other players fans tend to come in and out. SGA has been a constant this year too though.

It's not just box score stats that matter and I have Luka ahead so pls stop with all this 'Luka is so disrespected' stuff which has been all over the gb in recent days. Its gotten beyond tiresome.

You have made different tiers, Luka and Tatum together. ;) Luka has a lot better counting stats, efficiency, all advanced stats, and even in this thread so loved on/off. You can't find a single stat, box score or advanced that favour Tatum. The difference between this 2 is huge. Or maybe you wanted to say that Boston is great?

If I understand you right, you have right to write your opinion how Luka has to changed his game, and others should be quiet and listen? I have to admit that I didn't know how many great analytics are here. Knowing more than players, coaches, FO...

I mean I guess if you're just making stuff up on the fly then sure. All I did was list my current top 5 for mvp. Luka being on a team that is currently the 8 seed in his conference isn't really helping his case that much while Tatum's is like 5 games ahead of the rest of the league. You may not like this or agree or w/e but don't make it your own vendetta with me like I'm the only one who would rank them this way. There's like 500 other posters on here you could argue that with if that's what you want to do.

I just showed you comparison between those two, not only box score but advanced stats too, that shows how big gap is between those 2. Tatum is much closer to his starting lineup teammates than Luka. Tatum is not 5 games ahead of the league, Boston with far the best roster is.

Don't worry, it's very late here, it's enough for today.

Jokic didn’t force a thing. Let Porter cook and have the spotlight to a slumping Reggie in the 4th all the while drawing Bam away from the rim and setting mean screens all night long.

It isn’t all about the numbers…

People really love to out themselves as purely box score watchers though some can't even do that well apparently.

It's all about the numbers when they reinforce your opinion.

Then it's about more when the numbers are lacking.

Par for course lol.

I find Luka an amazing talent, puts up huge numbers, but i just find the ball in his hands way too much.

Tatum should be 2. About Same age as Shai, and is the straw that stirs the drink in Boston. he isn’t like Luka, JOKIC, who get gaudy assists as it is one pass shot. But Tatum creates a ton of open looks on those hockey assists. Boston 45 wins without Tatum. They are 65 with him.

Celtics aren't a 45 w/o Tatum, they are 2-1 w/o him, very small sample size to extrapolate full season record, with the only loss coming to Indy in the middle of their hot streak when they beat MIL twice and the Knicks.
Tatum is a great player, but he doesn't have the statistical case for MVP, he averages 1 secondary assist per game, very good, but not top 10 even, barely top 20 and barely ahead of Jokic at 0.9.

I think if Tatum wasn’t on Celtics they would still be a playoff contender. Tatum makes them best team in nba his skill set, defensive ability scoring.

He isn’t the best player in the league. That’s jokic. I am celts fan too. But Jokic is an insane player and nuggets aren’t a playoff team if he is out.

Something doesn't add up here. You're talking about hockey assists aka potential assist as it's labeled in statistics? I'm not sure Tatum's gravity is as good as you're suggesting compared to the rest.

Potential assists.

1. Hali = 18.8
2. Trae = 18.4
3. Luka = 16.8
.
.
Tatum = 8.7

Then you have points created from assists.

1. Hali = 29.6
2. Trae = 27.2
3. Luka = 25.1
.
.
Tatum = 12.7

And secondary assists aka hockey assists that you're probably talking about. Per game.

1. Durant = 1.3
2. Luka = 1.3
3. Maxey = 1.3
.
.
Tatum = 1.0

...and totals.

1. Schroeder = 73
2. Durant = 71
3. Luka = 71
.
.
Tatum = 57

In grand TOTAL, Luka creates 59.8 points for Mavs, no player is even close to that.

Because he shoots too much. He is an otherworldly player, but he always has the ball. Every single possession.

I think he hurts those around him. Tatum and the Celtics don’t rely on Tatum. They just run their offense. They aren’t set up for Tatum to do it by himself and carry the team. Statistically, there is no case for Tatum over Luka.

Where the heck are you getting 45 wins without Tatum? :lol:

No Tatum is not even top 3-4. Not nearly as high impact as the other guys, just has a stacked team.

Tatum is literally worse than he was last season....

But obviously adding Porzingis and Jrue will improve your team.

You haven’t watched Celtics then. He isn’t worse than last year.

Who is the great player on Boston? Brown? Holiday?

No one who follows, watches, talks about Celtics regularly think Tatum was better last year.

I really gotta question this boards ability to evaluate.

Tatum - overrated
Brown - overrated
Jrue - Horrible playoffs
White — not a star

Maxilla - Bird brain.

How the hell they 51-14 with an all-time point differential if they actually don’t have great players. Tatum sacrifices stats because they loaded.
