I think a Wolves trade of either Towns or Gobert is pretty unlikely, but it would be interesting to finally see Towns with an offensive engine PG like Trae. I think Rudy is a shoe in for DPOY again, and for years people have suggesting pairing All-Offense, Poor Defense Trae with All-Defense, Poor Offense Rudy, and it might make for a better overall team.

I would mention that I’m not sure Rudy would be happy about the trade. When Danny Ainge approached him with the idea of Minnesota, Rudy considered it overnight and was intrigued. He was curious about playing with another elite big, but he also wanted to see what he could do on a team with good perimeter defenders (McDaniels and Ant, and now NAW). He was taking the blame in Utah as being unable to step out to defend in a five-out by Terrence Mann and Reggie Jackson. As we have seen this year, Gobert has no trouble getting out to the perimeter, especially without having to stay in the paint to defend opponents that flew by the Jazz perimeter defenders. He would want good perimeter defenders and continue to call out defensive rotations if he was traded to the Hawks. He may also prefer staying in MIN for a chance at a record-breaking fifth DPOY, which would be harder to get in ATL.

TLDR: ATL would want a happy Rudy in trade, not sure they’d get one.

Griz still have Smart, emerging VWJ, and expiring Kennard to play next to Ja. Keep win now, fixes soon to be money problems but NBA knows Griz are ready for an all-in trade with the draft capital they have.

Nets add value contract Murray while not hurting their 25 eggs-in-one-basket offseason.

Hawks go all-in to add Bane next to Trae.
