What if Miami moved Herro/Richardson (opt-in) for Stewart/Fournier(opt-in)? Miami cuts Fournier and saves nearly $15m on salary.

Why would they pick up Evan’s option just to trade him, just to make Miami cut him? Your numbers suggest Fournier’s option wasn’t picked up but yeah.. If it’s picked up, then the team is stuck with his salary even if they waive him.

Stewart for Herro feels like an easy yes for Miami. Probably worth paying to get done..

Richardson and Fournier should be feee agents.

They wouldn’t. You renegotiate the pickup date to allow the trade by paying $x. Then cut before that date with all parties understanding the situation.

I would think at least a protected first but it's not even directionally correct for us. What do we need with Clarkson? This is just trading for trading's sake.

I didn't make the thread, but I also don't agree with you. We saved money this year and significantly upgraded at point guard. I don't see why Herro, a better asset than Lowry, and a first shouldn't be able to land is a somewhat cheaper upgrade.

Sexton and a 1st for Herro might work, but I don't see the Jazz adding Kessler. The Heat can add that first to Rozier and make another move downstream.

Sexton makes half as much as Herro and has been a good bit better than Herro this year.

It was easy when Herro was younger to argue that he had upside, but he hasn't improved at all over the last two years.

I go back and forth on whether the Hazz want/keep Kessler.
He was doing so well last year but seems to have taken a step back. Or maybe come down to reality.
