Herro for Sexton/Kessler?
Or Kessler/Collins?
Herro for Clarkson is closer IMO

What if Miami moved Herro/Richardson (opt-in) for Stewart/Fournier(opt-in)? Miami cuts Fournier and saves nearly $15m on salary.
Why would they pick up Evan’s option just to trade him, just to make Miami cut him? Your numbers suggest Fournier’s option wasn’t picked up but yeah.. If it’s picked up, then the team is stuck with his salary even if they waive him.
Stewart for Herro feels like an easy yes for Miami. Probably worth paying to get done..
Richardson and Fournier should be feee agents.

Seems like a win win for both sides.

Doesn't seem like a win to me. Just seems like we're dumping the better younger player

I was just going off the thread premise

The thread premise doesn't involve us sacrificing value for the sake of space. We're owed value.
I would think at least a protected first but it's not even directionally correct for us. What do we need with Clarkson? This is just trading for trading's sake.NYG wrote:BBallFreak wrote:NYG wrote:

Remove the salaries... in a vacuum, what do you have as the value gap between Herro and Clarkson?

I'd rather lock in value and get a piece that helps long term
I didn't make the thread, but I also don't agree with you. We saved money this year and significantly upgraded at point guard. I don't see why Herro, a better asset than Lowry, and a first shouldn't be able to land is a somewhat cheaper upgrade.NYG wrote:BBallFreak wrote:I would think at least a protected first but it's not even directionally correct for us. But you won't upgrade and save money. Unless saving money isn't a concern? At which point, what's the purpose of the thread?

Herro by a good margin. And I am no fan of Herro.

Sexton and a 1st for Herro might work, but I don't see the Jazz adding Kessler. The Heat can add that first to Rozier and make another move downstream.

Heat would have a young roster, ready for major (youngish) disgruntled star to demand Miami.
Bam
Rui | Robinson
JJJ or Robinson | Martin
Herro | Rozier (6th man) | JHS
Reaves | Rozier
Heat would have 4x 1sts (own and Lakers 29 & 31), who they got from Lakers drafted #14 (24 1st), own 2024 1st draftee, JHS and JJJ, swaps as needed. Plenty of contract filler - Robinson, Rozier, Rui - who all could be expiring deals when trade goes down.
