The 2 Bulls: DeRozan and LaVine
1. Which teams make sense for DeRozan in free agency or via sign and trade?
2. Where could LaVine possibly end up (besides the Lakers or Pistons) that would make sense for both sides?
I'm doing early research for my mock off-season and I get stuck on what happens with these 2 every time

Lavine to Detroit for a 1st and a couple of 2nds. Pistons move Grimes fir late first to get it done.
Demar either to Lakers or Philly. Outside shot at Knicks. Similar package unprotected 1st and protected 1st.

Re: The 2 Bulls: DeRozan and LaVine
I think a team with cap space, and a need for a guard, this summer will pursue LaVine - Detroit, Orlando, Spurs
I've also toyed around with the idea of expanding the popular Trae to San Antonio idea to include the Bulls with LaVine going to Atlanta to be paired up with his friend Murray.
I could see Charlotte with their new ownership trying to make a splashy move and viewing LaVine as a buylow options for an all-star
For DeMar I think the ball is really in his court. I do think there's mutual interest between he and Chicago on re-signing with the Bulls. I also think there will always be some interest in playing for his hometown Lakers. LA will obviously have its eyes set on some bigger targets, but what if they strike out in those pursuits - do they then turn their attention to a DeMar? Derozan is scoring 24 points on 59% TS% since December 1st - he's still getting it done at a high level.

LaVine for Simmons seems logical to me. Chicago clears the money and Brooklyn gets a better and more available player.

It appears Brooklyn is All-In on a Cap Space in 2025 Plan. Whether it works out or not remains to be seen, but Brooklyn is a team who utilizes cap space to the highest degree following the 2019 season as they acquired Durant and Kyrie. The Fan Base seems to be headstrong on the plan as well.

This is actually growing on me... if Green were a healthy Zach LaVine this season, the Rockets would have been pretty good

I could Philly offering enough to bring DeRozan in. At 34 they should not offer too much but a string backcourt with Maxey and DeRozan is pretty strong offensively.

The LaVine to Detroit stuff was just rumors. That would be horrible for Detroit. Lavine is not worth that contract. And the Pistons have $70M in cap space. Using $50M of it on LaVine sounds like a bad use of resources. And Ivey, in just his 2nd year on a rookie scale contract, is looking better every game.

Yeah I guess if there isn't a star and Tobias gets a bag from Detroit... DeRozan for just space and hold the assets makes sense.

Didn't make sense in the other thread, doesn't here. LaVine is the better player at this time but he's older and more expensive. Washington isn't trying to compete, they are trying to accumulate assets. By the time they are trying to compete, Poole may have matured into a neutral or positive asset; LaVine will just be older. And that's ignoring Kuzma's value (which is positive if not the 2 1sts level of positive that Washington was asking) and his descending scale contract.
Washington shouldn't accept an offer of LaVine for Poole straight up, much less with Kuzma added.

Giving us 2 players who are both injury prone and both on supermax money is cray cray!

I’d really like Derozan on the Warriors to replace Klay. Not sure how that could work out though.

Who do they plan on pursuing with their cap space? Looking at this list most of these players won't be available because they'll sign extensions.
Maybe someone like Brogdon or John Collins will be available? I'm not sure how exciting that is for Brooklyn (not that I think LaVine is amazing. He's athletic, but has his flaws too).

I'd be okay with that, but would want a little more. Something like another player being involved so the Bulls could save a little money to offer Drummond a decent contract. Or a 2nd round pick or two. Or maybe Clowney. Nothing major.
I'd also tell Simmons to stay home, but that's my two cents and not something I think the Bulls would do (nor do I think they'd really trade for Simmons).
