RS 23/24 - Mavs @ Spurs (Tuesd., 8:30PMEST)
Spurs are due for a W against Dallas. Let's hope it's not this time.
We can't expect to win many games with Kyrie Abdul-Jabbar bailing out all the bricks.

We have the 2nd easiest schedule remaining of any team in the NBA. It's time to prove this is a good roster and get at least the 6th maybe 5th or even 4th if Clippers can't get right. We're already tied for 6th.

Yes we can't. Ler's hope that Mavs role players can hit at least 1 3-pointer this time.

I could see the Mavs resting one of Luka or Kyrie for this and saving them for the important games against Sacramento.
Spurs shouldnt be trying to win this, but I wouldnt be surprised if they kept it close... Assuming that previous sentence is true.

Can we stop with those resting nonsense, when we're still in play-in? They can rest players, when playoffs is secured. Not playing play-in means resting everyone for almost a week.

Agree. No rest game.
We can beat easily our opponents and rest the starters in the 4th

Im not advocating for it, I am just saying it wouldnt surprise me if they do.
Regardless of who plays/sits, we should be able to beat the Spurs handedly. They are actively trying to lose games.

Didn't seem like that yesterday.

The Mavs need gametime together as they are all new to each other since the trade deadline. They are building trust and learning what they can do as a team with games like Denver . Denver wanted to beat the Mavs and didnt and very few teams manhandle the Nuggets on the boards as the Mavs did.
This is a Center battle against the Spurs ,Lively/Gafford vs Wembanyama which is good for the Mavs Centers .It will also be a good battle for Luka with Jeremy Sochan on him as Luka might face another good defender taller than him in Jaden McDaniels in the 1st round.

Wembanyama is trying to send every team a message RIGHT NOW. He doesnt want to lose and the Spurs arent trying to lose . They'll come away with a top draft pick loaded with good prospects in the top 10 . I look for them to go after Trae Young this off season and I hope they get him.
Every game is important and Texas teams playing each other dont lay down when playing each other .Expect a competitive game.

Wemby can have another monster game against Gafford. But we really need this W.
I don't trust us beating Utah.

Every game from here on out is a PO caliber game and should be approached in that matter.
This is late March and players and coaches should be in that mindset and focused exclusively on winning no matter the opponent.

Lively had his number in the first game of the season, let's see how it goes this time, obviously Wemby has improved a lot since.

Maxi at the 5 still makes sense only to few people, just sucks our coach is one of them.

I still think the best play is Lively starting over Gaff, but both getting plenty of minutes.
But yes, DJJ over Green in the starting lineup was always the obvious move, should have never disrupted that SF setup. As is Maxi only backing up the 4. But like u said, an idiot coach cant see it.

Yeah i thought so too but Gaff has proven to be a stronger center for now. Lively often still gets pushed around too much, he had some problems with Jokic backing him down for example. So i have to give Kidd credit for inserting Gafford into starting lineup, worked really well so far. And apparently Lively is handling his role off the bench also quite good.

Kidd is slow but not stupid... I don't think we will see Maxi at the C soon.

If JKidd was smart and bold enough he would bring in OMax off the bench behind PJ Washington. OMax didnt belong in a catch and shoot 3's lineup of the beginning of the year but now this more physical style of play which the Mavs are starting to play fits his style .He cant be any worse than what Maxi is giving the Mavs during the games .

He'd have to take the minutes from Maxi, so he won't do it.
I kind of suspect Cuban tells coaches to give players like Maxi playing time. They finally threw in the towel on Powell (that rhymes) but he was starting quite a bit last year.

The fear is Maxi is signed for two more yrs ......... When the fans get louder to fire Kidd that's only when he goes with the obvious move .
