Everyone has a podcast now, even complete morons like Gilbert Arenas.

I prefer long articles and good TV shows over podcasts.

So he's business partners with James, and people still think Redick gives unbiased takes? He's clearly pushing a pro Lebron agenda in the mass media. I would bet that same thing is taking place with Shannon Sharpe, Nick wright and Perkins. I believe Wright is on the payroll of Klutch

I will definitely tune in and listen though.

What part of the clip they posted made you think it’ll be more high fives than deep dives?

If this is the type of content they are going for in a podcast format the drop off in listeners is going to be steeep.

That’s going to be the most overly produced and scripted podcast in history

I didn't initially see the clip, I stand corrected. This looks great!

Will actually have to actively watch it now, cause no way this can be followed by simply having it on the background (which I actually prefer since I mainly listen to podcasts while doing house chores).

Could be the best podcast when it comes to discussing pure basketball...although I think that works better live during a game, Manningcast style.

Meh this is so played out. Every time someone is pro LeBron he has to have a reason to be and every time a past player is pro LeBron it’s because they hate Jordan. New narrative needed

Looking forward to watching it after that clip.

Why are there not more shows with this type of content or are there. For the NFL, you can find shows/coaches breaking down plays with current QBs right on ESPN

I agree. It would be so hard to do it like the Mannings simply because JJ has his job and LeBron is still in the league. Hard to match up schedules like that for live games. Maybe when Bron retires they could do a switch like that though.

I see what JJ/Lebron are going for but it works best when people can see it similar to Kobe's "Detail" or BBallbreakdown and Thinking Basketball's YT channels. The problem is the audience for those things I named and also what Lebron/JJ are going for are not as big as the huge short attention/hot take audience that is currently the biggest demographic in sports. Plus more than any other sport the NBA and its casual fans, mainstream media, and even former players seem to hate deep analytical discussion and analytics in general the most.

I'll watch because this is the most engaging and enthusiastic I've seen Lebron in a talking setting but it makes complete sense. Anytime you see music artists, athletes, actors or any entertainers the most engaged its not when they're talking about themselves or answering the same dumb gossipy questions, its when they're talking about other peers or things about their craft that they love. There's a guy who works for the fox station in DC and talks to actors and film directors and they love him cause he asks deep thought out questions and not the usual drivel.

Here’s the defensive wrinkle lebron is advocating for:

I really question people who are immediately critical of an X's and O's show with one of the greatest minds in basketball history. As much as people hate hot take content, this is the opposite of that. If you care more about legacy talk or LeBron having a platform outside of the NBA season then you're telling on yourself. Learn and listen for once.

Am interested in this, those clips were great but I suspect it can't just be that X and Os talk all pod.

I don't think the podcast can fully be this technical, but if this represents something like 30% of what they talk about that's still going to be incredible.

Lord knows we don't need another podcast. Especially by these two. I liked it when mediocre players like JJ Redick and Matt Barnes (especially Matt Barnes type) faded into oblivion.

Uh saw the preview they better have some diagram drawn out for at least YouTube platform. Nobody could follow what they are saying without visual aids.

And honestly though, both of them came across as pretentious, like they trying to 1 up each other with the lingoes. If they could calm down on trying to act like basketball savants it might have something.
