Devin Booker trade value

Post#1 » by HadAnEffectHere » Tue Mar 19, 2024 1:16 pm

Let's say the Suns end up in the play-in and miss the playoffs or lose in the first-round.

Let's say they try to move other pieces to fill their holes, but can't.

Can you make a trade where Booker gets back multiple really good win-now vets and could potentially improve the Suns for like 1-2 years?

so you want to dump the Phoenix drafted guy who has been there since the beginning, to appease 35 yr old Kevin Durant? good luck attracting talent after that trade.

I mean, the team is dead in the water due to cap issues and lack of picks for at least the next half decade after this core fails so it's not clear how they would attract talent regardless.

He's by far their most valuable piece, he should get a haul in case he's traded, Beal contract status and health and KD's age make them nowhere near as valuable.

and that's Bookers fault? everyone (except PHX front office apparently) that trading for Beal was the worst idea. and what a surprise, making $50+mil a year for 3 more years and playing 39 of 69 games. like i said, PHX trades Booker after all this, they will have a hard time getting the better players to come

i get it, but thats like trading Jayson Tatum, because he is more valuable than Brown/Kristaps and they arent pulling their weight. Do you think Boston would do that? (assuming they had a bad record).

maybe im completely off base, and i agree he is the most valuable piece. i just cant imagine a team trading away a top-15 player. just the worse team building strategy by PHX

It's obviously not Booker's fault, but the Suns are the NBA equivalent to 300k in debt to mobsters right now and they may feel they have no choice but to double down.

Phoenix should not trade Booker to desperately create a small 2-3 year window.

But Book would return a really great haul and you could build a great group around KD. Just feels too short a window to be worth it.

If KD and Book break up, you trade KD and hope to retool around Book. KD a year older isn’t worth 4 firsts and Bridges.. But he’s still going to return enough that you can hope to get a secondary star and keep Phoenix in playoffs for the next 6-7 years and hope for a MVP run by Book.

(Secondary stars are valued really highly on Realgm so no names)

He's in his prime and maybe top 3 at his position, he's not getting traded unless he specifically asks for a move.

Brandon Miller, top 5 pick.

If I'm the Suns I take that deal and not look.

*Btw I would never trade Brandon Miller just giving you an idea of a trade the Suns would accept.

Unless he demands a trade, Booker isn't going anywhere. You trade Durant and hope to extend the window.

I don't think the Suns would accept that deal for Booker. Booker is the face of their franchise and a superstar in the NBA.

How far off from Embiid? Or would Suns even consider with the injury stuff?

Booker for Embiid a framework is interesting as it fits the timeline of both teams. Suns probably have to throw in the unprotected 2031 first and their 2024 first and I'm still not sure they're that close there...

Phoenix could get a conceivable good haul for Booker.

Not sure of the pick value but OKC sends plenty of youth - Dort, Giddey, Jalen Williams, Jaylin Williams and Joe plus a few picks. It cleans out much of OKCs reserves but this is what it would take.

SGA/Booker back court with Holmgren!

The better option would be to trade Durant back to OKC to get the youth brigade. But I know that is not what the OP asked.

Ingram, Daniels, Hawkins for Booker + filler.
Pelicans add their own 3 1sts unprotected, 3 swaps unprotected, Lakers 1st 2024(or 25), 2x Bucks 1st, and 2x Bucks swap.
total of 6 firsts and 5 swaps.
If they decide they want to move him(or he asks for a trade), which i find almost impossible, Pels would have one of the best packages out there.

Booker is also in danger of missing the playoffs. Doing this trade allows them to fill out their roster.. Miller is probably a 20+ppg player moving forward. They also get a top 5 pick to add to their roster.

This trade would never happen in reality because Booker is clearly the face of that franchise.

A ton. I wouldn’t trade Chet or Jalen for him but I think that’s what even gets PHX to talk about it.

They should move KD if anyone they can still get a haul there and he’s the most mercurial.
