Demar to Philly. They have the cap space and the need. Philly also resigns Lowry to a 1 year minx to reunite them with Nurse.

Also resign Hield, Tobias, DMelton, Batum.

Maxey / Lowry
Hield / Melton
Derozan /
Harris / Batum
Embiid / Reed

Probably sign some defensive oriented vets to fill out the bench. A lot of talent here.

Realistically, Demar is the best FA available for them, and there’s enough spacing available on that team that Demar/Embiid will have space to attack the rim and draw fouls.

Do the Knicks make sense for DeRozan? Seems they could use a closer type. Is a sign and trade possible?
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

There's not enough spacing in the world for a Embiid-Tobias-DeRozan team.

I wouldn't necessarily object to DDR on a reasonable deal (read: sub 25M per), but not with Tobias.

Yeah I see DeRozan if Tobias gets a ton from the Pistons and 76ers can't get a star worth trading a pick for

Still wish Portland would have put together a very realistic Dame/CJ/DeRozan/Grant/Nurkić team. Would have been undersized, but a fun group to watch that's fairly likeable.
I don't have a cool avatar image because Dame came home.

Not sure if the Pistons are going for Tobias. I’d rather have them get DeRozan.

Demar seems to be set to get paid big this summer.. a couple rebuilding teams ready to call, some treadmill teams with ability to pay him wanting to avoid/delay a rebuild..

Demar is going to re-sign with the Bulls this offseason.

Lavine to Orlando? for Suggs, Isaac, filler(Ingles?) and a first

You're not getting that much from Orlando for LaVine.

I can't see the Magic moving Suggs to bring in Lavine. I think we'd much rather find an upgrade at scoring at the point guard spot and keep Suggs, he's pretty important to our defense. I especially can't see us trading both our best starting defender and our best bench defender for Lavine when our defense has been one of the keys to our success this season.

The Knicks probably make sense, except not to NYK fans. DeRozan isn't going to sign for some vet minimum, he can still play at a high level, isn't ring hunting for a one year deal, he wants to get paid and to play heavy minutes. Over on the Bleacher Report some fool was naming landing places for Demar and acting like he'd be happy to sign for cheap and come off the bench as a 6th man on the west coast. No F'n way. The Bulls also don't want a group of buyout, expiring and end of the bench towel wavers in return. But Knick fans think they should be able to just get more key players and give up nothing to get them. No they don't want Randle, Hart's too expensive Bojan is as old as DeRozan, I'd say Michell Robinson would be what the Bulls would be looking for because then they can trade Vucevic and resign Drummond so he and Robinson can fill the 5 spot and play some twin towers.

I'm not sure how Derozan fits in NY with Randle, Brunson being the 1st and 2nd options. He bumps one of OG, White Donte out of the lineup. They are better shooters and better defenders. Derozan at this stage cannot be a feature player on a good team.

He’s the best player on a team sitting around 500?

He should not be the best player, but I think he’s fine in a big role for a good team. I was half interested as a Dallas fan for him to be a distant third option but I’m happy with the Gafford/PJ duo they ended up getting..

But for NYK, I think you can play OG enough at the four to make it work.. I’d look at Bojan/Hart/asset(s) for Demar/Caruso in a complex sign and trade.. Not sure how close NY is to the apron. But even without losing Hart, with Demar’s playmaking added - I think DDV becomes the “back up PG”

I think Utah/SAS/Det offer him 40 mil this offseason though and Chicago is probably given the chance to match (they shouldn’t. They should rebuild.)
