It would take one of Murphy or Herb with McCollum, but Garland is great fit in New Orleans.

A young all star level Pg is a great fit in most franchises.

Well, as it turns out, not every franchise. And not every franchise has what Cavs would need - very specific trade pieces. Pels make a great trade partner and can be top offer if Cavs want to ship Garland West.

Pelicans certainly don't have what the Cavs need if its "CJ and (obviously, with the built team...) late picks. Trey gets the conversation going, Herb AND Daniels MIGHT...

I have thought that for a while. IF Mitchell resigns, flip Garland for BI.

And again, NO owe value, or Cavs HAPPILY walk away... :dontknow:

And again, I have no problem with that.

I mentioned it in another Pels post but while I think Garland is a great player I dont think thats what we need if we are going to be playing Zion a significant amount of time at the one

Dude, Hartenstein would be a really nice fit at starting Center. I see the non-taxpayer MLE is $12,859,000. If they renounce Jonas, then could that be enough to sign Hartenstein? Will Knicks sign him with Mitchell Robinson already there and needing to re-sign OG to the big contract? If not Hartenstein, Goga Bitadze would be an interesting fit. Love Jonas, but his fit with this team just isn't there anymore. Claxton would be fun but seems unlikely since it would have to be a sign & trade (Nance+?).

Knicks fans are currently obsessed with Hartenstein to the point that they're overrating the hell out of him. He's gonna get paid by NY

Understand his popularity from Knicks fans but there's no way he gets paid more than the midlevel unless they trade Mitchell Robinson. That's why they got Precious in the trade. And the Pels would be able to offer him a starting job.

And how about the emergence of other suitors?

I think at the number the Pels would be willing to get to, you have a limited amount of other teams that might be willing to pay and I’m skeptical of him being willing to sacrifice winning for the chance to be an undisputed number 1 option.

Basically if the Pels get past the first round I’m pretty sure he’s gonna get an offer of 50 a year and I don’t see a lot of teams competing with that

I think you might be underestimating the number of teams that would want to sign and trade for Ingram. The fact that he didn't take the extension seems like a signal that he's open to new teams

Look, anything can happen but his not signing an extension had more to do with maximizing the potential for his next contract. I think if the Pels are winning and willing to pay him then its a wrap. If both aren't happening its a different conversation. I dont think BI is looking for another rebuild. He wants to win but he wants to get paid too. Not alot of teams can offer both.

I would absolutely expect them to prioritize trading Mitchell Robinson

You might be surprised.

Either way--playoffs define winning IMO
