I just straight up don’t want him back. Thought he was overrated and injury prone.

Was looking forward to seeing him play the Raptors but definitely don’t miss the injuries and he’s not worth the max

If true, then I suspect with time Masai will be credited with a massive win with the OG trade. I love OG, but to allocate max money to him cripples your team’s ability to field a championship roster. The pain will get doubly worse when they have to re-up Randle at a premium.

Apparently the CBA doesn't even allow for the Raps to re-sign OG.
Untrue. (Unless you can point to a specific provision).
The only obstacle is where a team trades a player during the season who is then bought out by the new team. The original team can't re-sign the bought out player ... DURING THE SAME SEASON. So the Heat couldn't have re-signed Kyle after he was waived by Charlotte.
But after the season, in July, everything is reset. Heat could re-sign Lowry. OG is a UFA, and the Raps have cap space (but not enough - unless Masai is willing to give up a first to unload Boucher's contract).
Thanks for clarifying.
Nonetheless, I'm not interested in paying 40mil AAV for a guy who's only gonna suit up for 50 or so games.
Unless it's Kawhi of course. At that price, he would be a bargain.

I admit to being confused by OG‘s trade at first, but it’s starting to make sense now. If he wants almost the max and the front office was genuinely worried that he won’t be able to stay healthy for the rest of his career then I can see why we moved on. I feel bad for him if that’s the case but it happens, and smart move by Masai.
