Pistons could use Robinson. We got the cap space to absorb him.

Seems like a new way to get DFS to Miami (Robinson to Detroit, 2024 Miami first to Brooklyn)
Feels like Miami could do better, so needs adjusting. But an interesting base.

I don't see why we'd give up Robinson and a first for DFS. I'm not sure I'd give Robinson alone at this point. He needs to be our starting shooting guard.jayjaysee wrote:theBigLip wrote:Pistons could use Robinson. We got the cap space to absorb him.

Agreed. What a difference a year makes. I wish the Pistons would have swapped Bogdonovich for him last year.

We do agree it doesn’t work as is, but think it’s a fixable base. Brooklyn getting too good a deal not taking any salary back and getting a first likely in the teens.. Detroit maybe getting too good a deal considering how Robinson has played this season.. Once you add whatever else to it, seems like there’s a deal there.
We do seem to agree that trading Herro first makes more sense. Just a different route if the team wants to stick with Terry/Herro

I don't see Terry/Herro being a good pairing unless Herro comes off the bench, which he doesn't want to do.jayjaysee wrote:BBallFreak wrote:I don't see why we'd give up Robinson and a first for DFS. It seems to me, in your deal, the fix would be too have Detroit to add incentive and have Miami take out the first and add a minor incentive. That would equal it out value-wise, but I'm still not touching it if I'm Miami. He's too important to what they do offensively.

Towns and Butler don't get along. I don't see the fit with Miami's culture, either.Colbinii wrote:Herro + JJJ for Towns

I'd do that for Herro. No Cole Anthony.Skybox wrote:ORL 24 frp and cap space (or less cap space & Cole Anthony)

Re: Who Wants Tyler Herro or Duncan Robinson?
I need a reason for why they want to trade them?
Like im sure mavs would give an expiring thj in the summer for herro if they just want to get out of the money

Re: Who Wants Tyler Herro or Duncan Robinson?
I love the Heat to keep Duncan Robinson.
Herro is the player I will trade because he doesnt fit with Terry and Miami needs to keep their payroll below the 2nd apron.
I will do the Orlando offer here, but Isaac/FRP for Herro
A BIG No for Miami
Rozier is a lot better than Cole, its the Heat who needs to be compensated.

Re: Who Wants Tyler Herro or Duncan Robinson?
I offer a 3 team deal:
Miami trades - Robinson, Herro
Miami receives Durrant (35 going on 36)
Miami moves off Robinson/Herro.
Phoenix trades Durrant (if the season does not work out for the Suns)
Phoenix receives Giddey, Dieng, Dort, Robinson, any 2 FRPs from OKC
Phoenix moves from Durrant and makes Booker the key offensive figure by surrounding him with good role players. Phoenix goes for a role player youth movement.
Also these pieces are less expensive and pieces can be moved easier if needed. Would like to see if anyone would be willing to take Beal if a pick is included (perhaps Kings for Barnes, Huerter, Mitchell?)
OKC trades Giddey, Dieng, Dort, 2 FRPs of Phoenix's choosing
OKC receives Herro
Williams slides to SF, Herro runs with SGA to spread the floor. Still have plenty of picks to restock and keep the cap number lower.

Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

WUT? I doubt OKC gives those players for Herro, let alone two FRPs. And Miami gets KD for two players of minimal value on their deals?

"I am Minnesota"
In all seriousness, this board is a **** hilarious. One minute, Towns is a "Stat padder" who can't win. Then, Minnesota develops and acquires actual talent around him and all of a sudden he is no longer one of the worst contracts and is being hung-up on when requesting to trade him for a good starter in Herro and a Top 6-7 rookie in the 2023 Draft Class.
