Good little article. Not too much new information, but for those who wondered, it was nice to get some clarification that it's just one of his shoulders/arms where has the TOS issues. Article jives with what I've been saying all these years regarding the condition and puts the doubters to bed. The fact that he explored/considered trying to revamp his career by shooting left handed is insane and a testament to how crippling TOS is. Also - the fact that surgery was indeed an option but he was told it may not help at all I think answers a lingering question we've had. Also, noticed some verbiage that indicates he won't be here next season (not surprising).

Which verbiage?

Yeah... i wanna know too...

It mentioned him being an unrestricted free agent, but that's all I saw. The article was about a person overcoming numerous obstacles, and the ending of "he's an unrestricted free agent" was about him shouldering on (shoulder pun, anyone?) regardless of where he ended up.

The more pointed thing I saw was how they interviewed the entire Magic organization about Fultz and everyone was clearly cagey about his future. No mentions of how important he is to the core of the team, just a lot of the usual platitudes about being a veteran presence. I think Fultz being injured so much is clearly tempering anyone's expectations about him coming back.

Right - I had to go back and find it again..it doesn't hit the same this time around, but I still get the sense that Coach Mose saying "He’s got a chance to continue to do special things in this league" is just soft-speak for "He's got his chance in FA to continue playing in this league - just for another team".

Hmmmm in today's world those words are just being "politically correct" so yeah... writing is on the wall..

It might be better for team building to sign two MLE-type players instead of one high dollar player.

Have to fill up salary cap to reach required floor.

I'm sure we could find 2-3 MLE-type players to fill in for Fultz, Okeke, Kevon, Queen, and Scholfield. I still think we can keep Goga.

I think the Magic will overpay for a shooter, like what the Sixers did with Redick to mark it as a turning point of their franchise.

I think it will be easier for us though, because we are a winning team already and it will help attract veterans to sign with us without shelling out the moolah.

My targets:
Monk
caleb Martin
Saddiq bey
Burks
Derrick jones jr
Lonnie walker
Kennard
Mcdermott
Jalen smith
Grayson
Patrick williams

In no particular order although Jalen Smith is high on my list. Haha i think he gives us Wendell Carter contributions with rim protection. I think getting two way players, elite shooters or solid shooters with elite athleticism is a must for us.

I’d try to acquire trey murphy also

Also...sounds a lot like Rashard Lewis to ORL...FA overpay, best available in a weak class...ORL saw a perfect fit to complement a strong young team and went for it.

I'm not sure who that is this year-Jrue is unlikely to move, IMO. Monk's certainly intriguing - but I'm not sure he's for real-might be just another Cole-which is an improvement, but maybe not enough. Maybe though-I don't know him enough to really know but I'm afraid of paying "best available" vs best guy overall for ORL. I think Murray checks many more boxes, when you consider ORL's defensive identity, his length, ability to run the offense (not take over, run sometimes), and overall scoring. He'd cost more via trade, but what a fit he'd be. As far as Claxton - I don't want to pay more than 16-18 per for an elite, but limited role player...but just envision a guy sending back shots like Goga and still switching around like Isaac. :o

The way we're playing right now (without a PG)...OG would be a BEAST. I don't think he's leaving NY, but 8-)

Monk is a huge upgrade to Cole, imo.

He is taller and more explosive as a scorer.

I’d prefer Jalen Smith over Claxton because of fit, tbh. Especially with Banchero relying on mid-range jumpers, I think Jalen Smith would do wonders to our spacing than Claxton.

If there’s someone to overpay this year, certainly would be Monk. But there are a lot of other options out there.

But definitely we need to get at least 1 3-point specialist like McDermott or Beasley. Then the rest can be 3 & Ds

I like Melton and Precious. Anchiuwa knows Orlando well from his time at Montverde.

If the Knicks can only offer Hartenstein $14m because of early-bird rules. Should we offer $15m.

If the difference is that small, you think he would just stay no?

Unless theres another reason? Playing with fellow Germans? No tax? Loves disney? Etc etc

Otherwise better offer something like 18m or aomething.

happy our team is doing well but still noticing that our PG position is lacking and will cause us problems come playoff time and during the stretch of playing good teams.
