Are they? Two aging stars, tougher conference, not much cap room to improve if they don't win in the next year or two
1 former face of the league
1 of the current contemders for face of the league
1 allstar
Their sun ia setting down but they probably have 1-2 last ride.
Correct about their conference though.Jokic ,ja, hydra clips... yikes
It's simply much harder to break through West.
On east, even this year, you can get to second round by accident, and your path will go as long as you avoid Buck & Celtics.
On West it's different thing, you will have terrible matchup in first round, no matter where you are seeded.
OKC can win West and for an award, play Lebron James and Anthony Davis- two of top 10 best players on planet Earth.
Boston in first round is facing Bulls without 3 starters or one legged Embiid (maybe) , worst case Indiana or Miami.
10th seed on West are Warriors with 36-32 record. 10th seed on East are Hawks while being 10 games below .500.
I never really understood why Lebron is only star in nba who figured playing on East is way more rewarding and why those stars don't join Eastern conference teams to simply have easier paths. Lebron went on what 6 straight finals from East and hardest team he ever played in all 6 years was team with 1 and half allstars. ( George & Hibbert and broken Rose & Joakim Noah).
For crying out loud, Hawks played Eastern Conference Finals in 2021 and Miami went to finals from playin last year.
