Curb has been great this season (minus the disgruntled episode)

With the exception of A24, movie trailers are in a particularly awful spot these days. It feels like the same shop makes all of them.

Three Body Problem off to a good start. I'm glad I read two of the books although it's been long enough that I don't remember everything.

So sad and disappointed. Looks like every other AI generated nostalgia crap movie being made these days.

Watching the trailers for the new King Kong and Planet of the Apes movies, I’m thinking things are trending up for people in the “CGI Huge Ape” industry.

I didn't read the books or actually have any idea what the plot is. My brother says it's a real mind trip. I'm starting episode one this morning, and so far, so good.HaroldinGMinor wrote:Three Body Problem off to a good start. Re: OT: TV and Movies
Im over millennial nostalgia in general let alone overloaded CGI big blockbuster franchises, more times than not anything being being brought back/given a sequel/remade so long after the fact is going to be terrible. Too bitter not enough sweet. Sequels even when they’re close together have a tendency of not being as good and play on same gags, its a cash grab a lot of times.
Watched The Iron Claw, Efron gives a strong performance but the movie is paced pretty badly leaping thru time so the characters never feel like they get fleshed out enough imo. It kind of bugs me they wrote out a brother but I guess the family is okay with it, director said it would have been repetitive and unbelievable.

Re: OT: TV and Movies
I finished The Last Kingdom and watched their follow up movie. Really good series, IMO.
As a show often compared to GOT, I'll say that TLK did not have the same kind of shock factor and obviously, as a show based off of real history, you don't have any fantasy elements. Still, the character arcs were interesting, the storylines were quite enjoyable without being overdrawn, and the battle scenes were epic in their own right. While GOT fell off a cliff after they got past the books, I still think the best of GOT surpasses TLK. But TLK is a breath of fresh air in that it isn't needlessly convoluted like GOT could be at times.
Definitely recommend it if you're into that whole midieval vibe - kings and conquests and battles and such. It's a show that leaves you satisfied at its conclusion, which is a rare thing indeed.

Agreed. Good show. I thought the regular series finale was good and was somewhat surprised they kept going with the movie. But the movie, and ending, were very good too. And of course there was this
?
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

2001 is a perfect film and will hold up forever. One of those movies that brings me to tears by the end just because of how beautiful a piece of art it is.

I just got an email that my order of 2001 was cancelled because the price was wrong when I bought it. RIP.
