JVL vs Ramsey
Assuming we can only keep either of them with the big club next season, who would you prefer, and why?

Neither but if forced to, I'll take JVL in this small sample.

Re: JVL vs Ramsey
Dude it's JFL, unless you are talking about Jonas Valanciunis Liberty.
Ramsey looks like he has legit backup potential because his defence is very good and he has been a good 3pt shooter in the G-League. He just needs to stick to shooting them when open. I like JFL too, but don't see him as more than an end of the bench guy.

Who gives a sh*t at this point as we have 3 high draft picks coming next season, these guys will be fighting for scraps at next year's training camp.

Re: JVL vs Ramsey
I've always liked the concept of JFL, and it was fun to think we had this hidden gem in the G-League.
But Ramsay has a certain je ne sais quoi. He looks like he might develop into an actual player in this league.
They're exactly the same size and play style - i.e. undersized combo guard. So I definitely don't want them both. This team needs to get bigger and tougher in the worst way, especially if the league is going to allow guards to defend again.

JFL could improve as a playmaker and off ball player but he isn't terrible. I see a clear path for him to become a scoring punch sixth man.

Neither possess qualities that can help them succeed in the NBA.
JFL can’t pass nor shoot from 3.
Ramsey can’t do anything. I respect the hustle but he’s athletic and that’s about it. Decent defender.
If I had to pick, I’d say JFL.

Ramsey looks a tad bit quicker and more bouncy.
Have them fight for Garrett Temple's spot next year. Maybe both play in the 905 fighting for a spot. Kira Lewis is way worse so he's off the 905.

Ochai "looks" like he can defend 1-3 like a Bruce Bowen and should stick to the corner 3. He's more of a poor man's OG, but likely more useful that JFL or Ramsey.

True. A guy like KJ Simpson with the #31 pick would likely be of similar size but a true PG with a quick first step and good 3pt shooting. Simpson hit a clutch jumper to win their opening game.

Ramsey looks like GPIII to me. I'd personally rather have that, over a SF who shoots 25% from three. But, that's me.

For players of these guys ilk (undrafted or late 2nd guards) you have to do 1 of 2 things at a good level: shoot 3’s or defend. Having one of these skills buys you time to figure out the other parts of your game. JFL is not a good defender and he can’t hit 3’s so he’s not going to be able to get playing time because he can’t help a team. There’s no point in playing JFL if he can’t shoot or clamp down on guards because you might as well play a 6’8 guy who also doesn’t give you those things but at least provides size.
Ramsey looks like he can defend so maybe that will buy him some time to add some shooting.
For these fringe guards (undrafted or late 2nd) if you’re not saying “hey, he really gets into guys on defense” or “his shot is looking pretty good” then they aren’t going to make it. Teams have no incentive to let a 6’3 guard figure it ALL out. You have to show something.

Ramsey has been the better player.

As opposed to Ramsey, who shoots 25.5% from 3
in the NBA?
