Re: Playoff seeding thread
If we don't have Karl we lose in the first round. We're not beating NO, PHX, SAC, and I think it's unlikely we beat 9/10 (Dallas or the Lakers).

Re: Playoff seeding thread
My prediction is the Wolves finish 7-4, resulting in a 56-26 record, falling short of the franchise record set by the 2004 Timberwolves and GOAT candidate, Kevin Garnett.
I think OKC finishes 7-5, also a 56-26 record.
If we can win 1 of the Denver games (I predicted both as losses), we have a great shot at the #1 seed.

Who are the other 2 losses?

The main thing about Phoenix that makes me nervous is that they have a third guy who can go off. I feel comfortable against any team with two elite scoring options because we've shown we can slow those teams down (Clippers, Mavericks, etc.).

I think they split the @Phoenix and @ LAL games and then split the Houston and Bulls games.

I am confused. We have 22 losses you said we end at 26. 2 losses to Denver, 1 to LAL, 1 to Phoenix, and 1 to either the Bulls or Rockets is 27 total.

Split LA and PHX away games.

Do you know what split means in the context of 2 games?
It means you win one and lose one.
I wouldn't venture to say which one we win, but I think 1/2 is a safe bet.

I already acknowledge my mistake above. I misread the original post and responded accordingly. My bad

We're going to win 1 of the Denver games. If we finish first I can see people coming out of the woodwork saying KAT sucks and we don't need him.

We are built for depth. KAT is the most expendable just because we have Naz and Rudy. But I do think we win all 3 games we lost in the last 11 if Karl was there.

Re: Playoff seeding thread
It's seeming inevitable that we will be playing a first round series against one of Sacramento, Phoenix or Dallas

Here's hoping it's sacramento, we can take them for sure even if their nonstop 3 point shooting style is annoying for us to face.
But they don't have two superstar closers like Suns and Mavs (plus a 3rd sleeper assassin in Beal).

Re: Playoff seeding thread
Regardless of seeding - and my belief that PHX, OKC, NOP, and PHL (with Embid back) all beat the Wolves in any playoff series - I just walked out of the sports book at Aria with a $20 bet on the Wolves to win it all. Yes, I’m obviously a huge gambler. They were +3000, so 30-1. If the stars align $600 is the dessert to a championship main course.

Tied for 2nd with OKC at 50-22, with ten games left.
We split the season, so the next tie-breaker is Division Record. We’re 11-3, OKC 12-4 (and DEN is 8-5).
Our last two Division games are @DEN, OKC is done.
If we split the DEN games and both end up 12-4, the next tie-breaker is Conference Record. MIN is 34-12, OKC is 32-16.
We need to win one of the Nuggets games. That might even get us the #1 seed.

Let's hope PHX win tonight and things will be very interesting. Maybe we will beat DEN this Friday before Murray comes back.

One win against Denver gives us the tiebreakers against both OKC and Denver (which also means we get the tiebreaker in a three-way tie).

Re: Playoff seeding thread
I hope we got on a plane tonight, to sleep in Denver and start to acclimatize to the altitude. Our other meeting with DEN is on the back end of a back-to-back, so this two day rest is likely our best chance (especially if Jamal Murray is still out).
