They don't really have a half court offense. They relied on the putbacks by their bigs when not facing a huge center like Edey for half court. They were big enough and physical enough great with defense along with Knecht's shooting to make it here.
But what failed them was Rick Barnes' defense on Edey. Painter didn't outcoach them either. I saw nothing brilliant by Painter. They played their usual game.
The players didn't choke. their coach did.

They live on defense and transitions and putbacks.

Re: March Madness Discussion and prospect watch
I think Zach Edey really proves that people do not want 90s/early 2000s ball to return at all.
"Coordinated huge guy causes a bunch of contact in the post that is arguably a foul on a defender on every play, draws 20 free throws in a game" is something no sports fan actually likes, people just like talking.

Is Edey really a prospect? I wouldn’t be shocked if he doesn’t get drafted.

Do the Spurs have the guts to select Edey #1 overall?
Pop get his next Duncan/Robinson twin towers.

Naw, I just don think his game will work in the NBA. Definitely a college player though. There is a reason why he has played all four years.

I think people who hate Zach Edey would have stabbed their eyes out trying to watch Karl Malone etc.

I don’t hate Edey. I’m sure he’s a nice person. As someone else said - Purdue is just obnoxious and the guards are arrogant as hell. I hate their fans more so than anything.
I’ll stop hating

Cant wait to see what duke4life says once Edey drops 40/20 next round.
He’ll drop 40/20 in a 76-64 loss against Duke. Calling it now!
Speak it into existence.

He’ll definitely get drafted. Late 1st or 2nd round. At worst, he’ll be a 15 min back up center and a solid one at that. There’s a place for post bruisers still.

Re: March Madness Discussion and prospect watch
Like I said before Edey's geting star calls. He's college's Lebron/Giannis. They ain't gonna call **** on him. Heck Burns was getting MUGGED everytime he touched the ball no whistle but here someone lays a hand on Edey they are called. I am Canadian and I want to see Edey get better but this is ridiculous.

Congrats, Purdue! Good for Painter, been a great coach forever.
Purude been one of those long time good basketball programs without an NCAA Tournament championship so far, like Gonzaga. These teams are due some day.
Zach Edey was tuff today. BTW
