Posted this almost 2 weeks ago and there's a good chance he will win the MVP. It's like a tradition for transcendent players since LeBron that they win their 1st MVP in their 6th season. Luka is going for the kill. 47 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists by the end of 3rd quarter against the Rockets. With Jokic and SGA looking hurt in the final stretch of the season, Doncic will snatch the trophy from them.

SGA’s hurt he got a quad contusion in the Jazz game played through it then sat. That’s given Luka’s scorching hot play catch up/pass SGA.

But it’s still Jokers imo.

When Bron 1st won it the Cavs won 66 games and were the 1 seed. MVP voters care about record and haven’t historically given injuries a lot of play. If it was OPOY it would be really close between Luka and Joker imo.

Mavs played with hundreds of different starting line-up this season while their 2nd best player miss a third of their games and yet they're on pace to win 49 or even 50 games this season. Imo, Doncic will take the MVP especially with games like this heading into playoffs.

It’s Jokers unless the Nuggets collapse down the stretch. Even then…

He doesn’t want Luka winning MVP or being in a two man race with Joker because it would put him over his beloved SGA. That’s his only reason but of course he won’t admit it

I appreciate the compliment but it’s impossible to simp as hard as Luka stans itt. I can really only be a runner up, like Luka and SGA.

Oh boy now comes the Stan stuff…of course.

Evrrytime you totally ignore the health/injury argument while pushing the best record argument….so please tell me more about Stans

I’m out of here, waste of time anyway

Massive line for jokic today, gotta believe he's in the driver's seat, seems like SGA numbers are down a bit last few games.

Let's say the Nuggets finish the season with ~56 wins. How many games does Dallas have to win in order for Luka to be favored to win MVP?

Could be a monster day for jokic. Beat cle. Min lost. Okc may lose. Den could be in the driver seat for 1 seed.

Min still has to play at lakers. At phx. At den. Critical loss for them today vs the bulls as 8 pt favouries

Advanced Stats Luka vs Jokic
DPM: Jokic
EPM: Luka
LEBRON: Jokic
BPM: Jokic
Time-Decay RAPM and LA-RAPM: Jokic

Don't mind giving Luka the MVP to be clear

50 might not be enough but it can’t be less imo.

My guess is that the standings is still
1.OKC
2.MIN
3.DEN

By the end of the season if I had to guess

I actually think Jokic had a better game today

Luka singlehanded finished team that was on 11/0 run in 2 and 1/2 Q in away game. How can someone play better?

I wonder where is Doctor MJ, who was absolutely sure that MVP is 2way race between Jokic and SGA?

Because he is playing better.

It might take a while to land, but that's it. That's Luka's case.

He's been the best player this regular season.

No he hasn’t.

Credible estimates have the gap closing by 4-5 games if both teams were equally healthy. Note that part of the gap is that Luka missed more games than Jokic. Also doesn't have a very high opinion of Murray relative to most advanced stats https://www.bball-index.com/nba-injuries/

Come on man, you're so desperate to not want Luka to win his (well deserved) MVP title that you got to the point of pointing the fact he has missed 6/7 miserable games in the season?

How does he deserve it over Jokic

MUCH more pts (and when you get to 26+ pts players, that counts), more assists, more steals, getting his team to an almost 4th spot in the west despite having had a FAR weaker team than Joker for most of the season.
And more memorable games than Joker this season including that historical 73 pts game.

Higher usage. Jokic has better shooting percentage. Mavs plays at a faster pace. All of the underlying numbers favour Jokic.

Murray has missed almost the same amount of games that Irving has. No way he does he snatches the trophy

The problem for Mavs was that it wasn't only Irving out a lot. Denver most used lineup 895 minutes, Mavs 122 minutes. Can you see the difference?

If OKC is the one seed SGA will have more 1st place votes than Luka. I know folks wish this was an offensive player of the year award but it’s not.
