It has to be a lot worse than what we did with Joe before I consider it snakelike. You have a lower threshold than I do to consider something snakelike. No right or wrong answer. Just a matter of opinion.

No.

It wasn't the contract that we signed him to that was illegal. It was putting in writing that if he accepted the small contracts, we'd pay him a bigger one when we could.

We did not get busted for signing him to an illegal contract. We got busted when the NBA found out we promised him a future deal in writing to circumvent the CBA.

Following the 1999 NBA lockout, he signed a suspiciously low one-year, $1.75 million deal with the Timberwolves, raising eyebrows in the league.

The NBA found out about an under-the-table deal between Smith and the Timberwolves, involving him signing three consecutive minimal one-year deals. This arrangement allowed the team to acquire his Bird rights and eventually exceed the salary cap to sign him to a more lucrative deal.

We had a contract written for the future stipulating we would give him x amount of dollars if he met y conditions. Are you saying that is incorrect.

Yes. He got offered an 82 million dollar deal if they could sign him to 3 1 year deals.

We told him if he signed 3 consecutive tiny 1 year deals, we’d sign him to a massive deal once we had his Bird Rights.

We have a different recollection of the exact wording of the illegal contract. I might get ambitious enough to find it. I might not. You might get ambitious enough to find it. You might not.

Do you honestly think they took 5 draft picks because they offered joe Smith a bonus for making an all star team?

I tried to find the illegal contract in all it's glory, but in 5 minutes of searching I failed.

No. It was because it was secret contract signed for the future that was illegal. It had various bonuses based on his personal success and the teams success.

Contract isn't there. One thing however, completely backs me up is that it said the contract would have been up to $86million so there were obviously incentives in the contract as I have stated all along.

We did not sign him to 4 contracts at once. They were done each year. The written promise was if he signed the 3 INDIVIDUAL contracts we would then sign him to a massive deal.

However, it was considered very suspicious that a young player would sacrifice his first big payday for the betterment of his team. To make matters more questionable, Smith previously turned down an $80 million contract extension with the Warriors.

However, it turned out that Smith and the Wolves agreed to an under-the-table deal that involved him signing three consecutive minimal one-year deals. This would allow Minnesota to acquire his Bird rights and eventually go over the salary cap to sign him to a lucrative deal.

Unfortunately for Smith and Minnesota, the NBA found out ahead of the 2000 offseason and handed down severe penalties to all involved.

During a recent interview with VladTV, Smith recounted the whole ordeal, saying that it cost him $80 million

Your link did NOT have the contract. It did state that the illegal contract would be worth up to $86million totally backing up my statement that it had incentives in it. I have stated no more or less than that. I'm correct.

What would someone who is on the up and up have to worry about litigation? Especially someone who claims to be looking forward to working with ARod and Lore...

If they're talking litigation they're the ones not working with Glen. Locking them out is an obvious step.

Yea I’m thinking you’re Glen at this point.

I've never said that any of this was wrong. I just said it had incentives for Joe's personal and the Wolves team success. It did.

I didn't say they were. I said the contract was illegal and it included incentives. When we find the contract you will see I was correct.

But the incentives had nothing to do with the legality! There are all kinds of incentives that can be put into contracts.

I get that you’re trying to be right on a technicality, but it’s not happening.

I never in any way whatsoever said the incentives were illegal. It's not a technicality. It's a fact. I said that the contract was illegal because it was secret and outside of what we were allowed to offer.

You need both parties. Neither side shouldn’t take all the credit

Never did I say Lore and Rodriguez deserve all the credit. But even you must see they should be given more credit than Taylor. I would venture, based on what Taylor told them, it should be a considerable amount more.

Who cares what the incentives were then? What does it have to do with anything? I feel like your saying Glen is innocent because he used a blue pen

I give A Rod and Lore more credit for signing Connelly than Glen. Does that prove I'm not Glen?
