I figured he was done, if this were like a Klay Thompson then maybe he could have come back, but his game is so physical that the shoulder was always going to be getting hit. I give him credit for trying, all blame to me falls on Thibodeau for the injury and the medical staff for not pushing him to get it sooner so he's ready for training camp. I haven't been the biggest Randle fan, but just losing him without anything to take his place is just not ideal. The season is done, go to the game thread and you'll see people acting like we're still in it I may have to join you on Team Villain, the amount of people not just getting the hint is crazy.
while i do agree that the medical staff has been sus af, i think randle was trying everything possible to try and play before resorting to surgery and that's why they didn't do it sooner
per woj
He had done everything possible to avoid surgery and return for the playoffs. However, the procedure became an increasing inevitability after recent visits to two specialists who warned of further injury and possible permanent damage to the shoulder if he returned to play before a surgical procedure, sources said.
bright side it sounds like he will be able to be ready for training camp. i think lol
Randle's surgery is expected to allow for a full recovery and return around the start of the 2024-25 season, sources said. Undergoing the surgery soon gives him the recovery time necessary to target that timeline.
The Knicks said Randle would be reevaluated in September.
when it comes to thibs, i do see both sides of the arguments. heat still had their starters in, so that's why randle was still in the game, but thibs also should've known to take them out since the lead was big. so i get both sides. in my opinion, i don't think thibs was responsible for this since it was a freak accident but i get where you are coming from. prob should've just taken him out the game since the lead was big.
you joining team villain would be a superstar acquisition for us. we can swap out guan0 for you with no problems.
