Re: 2024 NBA Draft Thread (Early)
I don't know if Cooper Flagg is any good, but he shows up all over my YouTube feed. Even though I have never clicked on a Cooper Flagg video, for fear of being flooded with even more of them.
I guess this is modern hoops marketing -- get an Internet team while still in HS to start building your brand, before college even starts.

Every recruiting service has him #1 in his class and his going to Duke. So unless he completely falls apart in college he is going to be a top 5 pick at worst.

Salaun can't jump as shown by... him being unable to score in the paint and averaging 0.2 BPG despite being huge?
Salaun constantly overhelps and goes for blocks, he just can't get any because he can't jump.
He has 9 blocks in 44 games at 23 MPG despite being 6'9" to 6'10" with a big wingspan, it's bad.
This guy reminds me of Tyrus Thomas. Tyrus biggest problem was he thought he was a guard and not a big man. I think he is a second round pick.

Clingan was projected around our range which sounds about right, 10-16ish. He may be rising draft boards in light of his recent dominance over two powerhouse offenses, but by the time the process is over he’ll fall back to where he should be. I like him though. Don’t love him.
He will be long gone. They know who he is going to be. Draft process isn't going to change that. People have said he looks good shooting the 3 in warmups so if anything some team is going to see that in a work out and fall in love.
If he’s gone, he’s gone. I like him but I’m not even sold on him at 12 (even though I do think he’s a good value pick in that range).
His draft stock today at the height of his fame and impact means very little to me. Of course it’s gone up. I don’t think he’s agile or offensively skilled enough to go top 5 in the modern NBA and I sure wouldn’t take him that high. Some teams might, but I think it’s more likely they start focusing on his limitations and he slides back down to where he belongs.
Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

If as advertised he is a rich man’s AK47. He’ll AK was a hell of a player and injuries derailed him. If he is that and that is an if every team has a spot for that guy. His likely one and done should tell us something.

He can jump, but being unable to score in the paint can be attributed to factors like poor strength, bad handles, bad decision-making, or poor touch. Salaun doesn't know how to play defense either. Poor timing, and bad positioning, could be the answer.
This is Kuminga's shot chart when he played from the G league Ignite. Bad finishing doesn't mean you can't jump.

Kuminga is a nuclear athlete though.

He is but going back to Salaun, his struggles could be related to him not being good at basketball instead of there being issues regarding his athleticism.

This draft may be worse than the class of 2000.

I expect Edey to eat Clingan up and solidify both of them behind h non lottery top 20 picks.

Ron Holland might be a good pick at 11. Was a top 5 high school recruit. Showed promise in the G League has some issues with his game. Could be All-Star level if he can get figured out. High risk high reward.

How do we feel about Edey as our future center? Should be there in the 10-12 range. Watching this championship game I’m all in. Edey against a legit big not getting the whistle and still dominating. He can hit FTs and play 30+ minutes a night. At 7’4 that alone gives him a chance. Hes improved immensely on defense and is pretty athletic for his size. Hes the closest thing we’ve seen to Yao Ming. I think theres high upside here.

No thanks. As a back-up big taken later in the round, maybe. But no to a guy of Edeys size in today's NBA.
Much rather have Clingan or Ware.
Go Bulls... I guess!? Right!?

Might be a reach at our draft spot but it could be worth the gamble depending on who's left on the board.

Edey got his and Clingan battled him respectively while doing nothing on offense.
Feels like it doesn’t do much or hurt either prospect.

Re: 2024 NBA Draft Thread (Early)
Edey is an older style center and is talented at what he does down low but will be a risk to whoever drafts him. He s too big ( can he actually stay healthy in an NBA schedule ? ) slow, and doesn’t shoot 3s. As we all know he’s not an ideal center to have in this day and age.
I actually like him and wouldn’t mind if the bulls drafted him. He can use his size and talent to his advantage and can dominate with his post game. Will be hard to guard if he scores the way he did in college.

Tend to agree. Think he will be gone by 8 though.

He seems to be in the 10-13 range right now.
