If Dame just doesn’t want to be here it’s a radically different scenario than if he and Giannis mostly need time with a competent coach to turn into the kind of unstoppable tandem they appear to be on paper.

That matters much more than whatever happens this season.

Trading Jrue rocked the roster. It’s reasonable for ancillary pieces to not fit afterwards.

BroLo and Khris’ contracts will be dramatically easier to deal moving forward as well.

Dame hasn’t been able to get on the same page with Giannis on the court and it feels like personally Dame hasn’t adjusted to being in Milwaukee. I remember there were rumors of the Bucks going after FVV not long ago and I wonder what Houston would think of a deal centered around Dame for FVV.

I think he has lost a step. Haven't watched him enough in Portland, but it seems like he is getting a lot of his attempts blocked this year, especially in situations where we need him to get his shot off at the buzzer.

hiring the wrong coach came with a setback.

Getting a 2nd superstar with GA was needed but came with a setback..

Losing 2 proficient 3 and D starters in the trade is going to take likely take another offseason to address. Beas will be gone.. Bev almost worked buy maybe broken now..

All that being said... we still have a chance at the ring this year... several recent finals teams weren't favorites going into the last games of the season and then they started clicking.. We have a few guys that maybe can turn into different animals once the playoffs start. Bev/Dame/KM/Pat obviously GA but this new version that can catch inside is going to be a lot to handle for teams

Would you trade Giannis and Dame for Luka and Kyrie?

Yes, just because of age between Giannis and Luka. I think Giannis is better at their best but I think Luka is up there. Dame is better but old and Kyrie is old and more injured but I think Kyrie is a better number 2 if that makes sense.

Yes. Name alone does it. Brook, Portis, and Mids have some value as well.

it’s possible with his age/contract/performance he’s viewed at as close to a neutral asset.

After this season and with the factors you mentioned he's closer to a negative asset. Not to mention he'll probably only accept trades to certain teams Further diminishing his value.

Maybe if I start posting trade ideas, the team and Dame will turn it around. But, if they get bounced in round one or two, and look bad doing it.

Trade 1: Dame to Atlanta for Dejounte and DeAndre Hunter.

Trade 2: Bobby to the Thunder for the Rockets 2024 #1 (pick 12 currently) and Kenrich Williams

Trade 3: Middleton to the Raptors for Poeltl and Chris Boucher

Trade 4: Brook to the Knicks for Bojan.

I don’t feel great about much above, but needed some therapy from the exercise.

Portland got three rotational players (Ayton, Brogdon and Williams) and three firsts.

I’d be happy with a couple of rotational players a couple of picks.

I'd do that Dame to Hawks one for sure.

We just need to dump Dame to avoid cap hell and being stuck with him, if we can get a young player & a pick we’d be lucky.

I'd make most of those moves. Those will not be available to us.

This seems more likely to me . plus make sure we trade him to west division team, don't want to see a resurgence year from him .

Realistically, he's probably still your best option to get something decent in return. He's had a down year but imo, there will always be a team that thinks they can help turn him around. He was still an all-star starter and to some dumb GM, that will be worth kicking the tires on if Horst makes him available or Dame asks for a trade (kind of feels like it's heading that way).

I don't think anyone other than Dame fetches a young player/good player and a 1st Rd pick. Maybe Middleton if a team is ultra desperate for shooting after their playoff run.

The problem is it makes no sense for the Hawks. Murray is a better player anyways
