Green has been a positive on court with Dallas. He's not a great player. He's flawed and inconsistent, but he also does a number of things well and always plays with max effort. This was Barnes and this is Powell. Hard to dislike guys who benefit the team on the court and who play their ass off every night while being great humans in the community. Not everyone is going to be Dirk or Luka. And sure I'd love to turn Green into prime Doug Christie. But that's not an option so.....
I'm fine with you wanting to swap him for Barnes. I just never understand some of this random hate you guys have for useful players is all.

Re: Dal Sac Town
We're on the same page with respect to Barnes & Powell, but can agree to disagree on Green. He had his best stretch last year when 1. the team sucked, and 2. he was extension eligible. He regressed quickly after the ink dried on the new deal (so not sure how he's a great human being) and the team has been playing better with him out of the lineup.

The tread is coming off Harrison’s tires so don’t mind the talent swap but might prefer to try to get some expirings for him

If a GM signs a max contract to a player -who is at best a 5th option on his team- to be the 1st option, I blame the GM, not the player.
I also think Barnes, 6'8 ironman who does not need the ball in his hands, would be a good fit with ball dominant Doncic and oft injured Kyrie - that's why I don't like the trade for the Kings. You don't want to improve a team you're fighting for a playoff spot.
Way to sell it

Josh Green 2022-23
25.7 Minutes | 9.1 Points | 6.4 FGA | .537 FG% | 2.8 3PA | .402 3PT% | 3.0 REB | 1.7 AST | .7 Steals | 2.6 Fouls | 1.2 TOV
2023-24
26.6 Minutes | 8.5 Points | 6.6 FGA | .493 FG% | 3.3 3PA | .401 3PT% | 3.2 REB | 2.3 AST | .8 Steals | 1.9 Fouls | 1.1 TOV
“Regression” and all of this is on a team that has really not had consistency, had a dozen of different starting lineups.

Lol, not really. I might be one of his last remaining supporters in SacTown, including Mike Brown. All I think is he would add Mavs more than what he is adding to Kings right now, that's why I prefer to keep him instead of sending him to Mavs- our conference rivals.

Re: Dal Sac Town
Doesn't feel like a home run for either team. I guess I'd do it.
Josh Greens next 3 years doesn't really excite me, but I also want the team to play faster. I think doing this forces Lyles into the starting lineup at least temporarily, which I'm actually a fan of.
Another deal that was kicked around on here was Huerter + 2nd for Bruce Brown. If the Kings did both of those, it would really emphasize athletic fast pace.

Don't see the Mavs giving Green for Barnes.
Could see THJ for Barnes.

I'm good with Green for Barnes but only if THJ along with a FRP can traded in a different deal for a starting wing. That way Barnes can be the 6th man and not be fighting for shots.
