From the Top 6, I’m liking Sarr and Knecht.
Holland seems like he’d fit like a glove. Isiah Collier seems like a combo guard defender that could play with IQ or as a secondary playmaker off the bench with Olynyk running things.
I wouldn’t be totally against packaging Indy pick and Detroit pick to climb a few spots to get our guy.
Kalel Ware is the big I’d want with 31, then Chomche.
I wouldn’t trying to keep a consistent pipeline of playmaking bigs but we still need the wing defence to cover up for subpar athleticism at Center.

Ya, we need more SF's when losing OG and Pascal and only adding Barrett on the wing. Let Nwora walk and never play McDaniels again.

That is the thing, I don’t feel Sheppard and Dillingham is that much better talent than Holland or Clingan.

Sheppard/Dillingham have skills that translate to the NBA right away. Players that rate out that well statistically as freshman rarely fail.

I forget, and don't know how to quickly look it up, but didn't Clingan also have a good statistical season last year as a freshman. The g-league numbers are difficult to compare for Holland, but he did put up mumbers. So, really couldn't you say that about all 4 players?

Clingan rates out well too if you're looking for a big. Holland is a tough read because gleague numbers are a lot harder to evaluate.

Dink Pate played most of the season as a 17 year old so he's extremely young (2006 birth year!), but he was pretty terrible, at least from a shooting standpoint. Shot 35% from the field and 20% from 3. He's a 2 years away from being 2 years away guy...basically a lottery ticket.

Great name though

On the assumption that Masai would love to draft bigger 3 and D guy, I wish I had time to do (or better yet, read) a deep dive on how projectable college FT% and 3-point % is to the NBA. Kawhi only shot 25% from 3 in his one year at SD State. Same as Castle. But Kawhi shot ~75% from the line. Castle is 76%. Of course, Board Man was MUCH better in certain other - and essential - facets of the game. I'm not comparing the two at all. I'm just trying to figure out how useful college stats are.

BTW, OG was terrible from the line (52%), but averaged 36% from 3 in his year and a half at Indiana. Of course, Kawhi famously worked on his shot during the league shutdown. But even in his rookie season, he shot 37.6% from 3.

Perhaps it's all random, dictated only by the mentality and hard work a young player is willing to put in.

Poeltl - Olynyk
Barrett - Dick
Quickley - Sears
Thats where im at except I'd probably switch the order on 6 , also at 17.

I also doubt we keep all 3 picks.

Yeah there is no way I'd draft Edey in top 20. Although he'll be serviceable for team Canada.

Clingan is disappointing as well. If he can't guard the guards in NCAA, there is zero chance he'll able to cover space in the NBA as a rim protector. And i am not even sure he's good as a drop back rim protector either

Clingan is like Poeltl 2.0. Edey > Clingan

I hope we don't draft either of these bigs. I just can't see it working.

Posters are making Poeltl comparisons. Do you guys remember Jak in 2018? The guy was a break dancing ballerina compared to these guys. Poeltl can still stay with some NBA guards.

If you're a game changing offensive hub, I can live with your suspect ability to move defensively. Otherwise, no.

All these no name players are horrible. Women's college basketball was way more fun and were actually stacked with superstars
