Cavs get: Brandon Ingram
Pelicans get: Donovan Mitchell
If Mitchell can be persuaded to go New Orleans and play with Zion and Herb Jones... And if the Cavs are willing to give Ingram a max... I feel like this trade checks a lot of boxes if the Mitchell doesn't want to stay in Cleveland and if Brandon Ingram is willing to play wherever. Obviously Mitchell is a lot better than Ingram, but he might be more of a flight risk as well so the value may come out around equal.

Re: CLE-NOP
This idea has been discussed a lot. Think it comes down to Mitchell not agreeing to play out his prime in New Orleans. Miami, Knicks or Cavs seems like the destinations and situations he would go/stay to. Doubtful he goes to another small market team with a questionable winning track record.

Re: CLE-NOP
These 2 do seem like natural trading partners in some way, though. Mostly for Allen. Getting crazy tho-- if Mitchell stays and they like Allen as all-star win now C--- does Murphy, Daniels, Hawkins, picks get close to them considering trading Mobley? Doubtful but fun to imagine.

D. Mitchell would not want to play with Z. Williamson. That is a personality clash.
Make the trade Z. Williamson for Mitchell.

Cavs will get a lot more for Mitchell than Ingram. If anything Ingram for Garland would be much closer.

Re: CLE-NOP
How about add the Lakers.
To Lakers: Mitchell
To Pels: Reaves + Rui + Vincent + 25/26 Lakers Swap
To Cavs: Murphy + McCollum + 29/31 Lakers 1sts
Little weird trade for Pels that is makes Lakers better, so Pels cash in 24 Lakers 1st (late lotto) and gain a couple swaps just in case Lakers start to suck (which is Pels hope if pushing Lakers 1st until 2025 - as is).
Instead of Cavs | Lakers direct, Cavs get a SF in Murphy (vs Reaves as main piece).

Agreed if Donovan extends with Cavs I could see something like this potentially go down. Cavs first priority must be to keep Donovan. Assuming he resigns, Allen is the best fit with him on their roster. After giving up such a huge warchest of assets in that trade, the Cavs really need to fully commit to building around him.
I could see other players traded to put together a roster that better fits Don. Maybe Mobley and/or Garland come available for a Mikal Bridges or Ingram type? In hindsight, maybe they should've kept Lauri instead of Mobley in the Donovan deal. I still love Mobley's potential but it's going to be difficult for him to reach it playing next to Allen and ball dominant guards.

I know this is late but this can't be a serious trade. We want a haul for Murphy, not a bunch of pennies. And we lose CJ on top of that?

Yeah, given the return for the Pels, they'd just cut the Lakers out and see if they could win a Championship with Mitchell, Ingram, Zion and Herb Jones. Go sign Kelly Olynyk and Mo Bamba to play center.

As a FYI, CJ has negative value.

If they're each willing to play in their new place, this is a no brainer to me. Not sure either will want it though.
