2024 draft (Potential 2 way picks)
Obviously, lots of players will not get picked up.
Looking forward who have you liked and think they will go undrafted?

Man, between Bitim, Sanogo, Drell… I’m OK with trying to develop these guys into NBA bench players. Not sure I want to add more.
But as always, keep an eye for 3P snipers (Strus, Duncan) who slipped through the cracks.

Bitim is already on a NBA contract.

I think all of our two-way spots are accounted for (Sanogo, Drell, and Funk), but Funk appears to be one of the lowest-ceiling players in recent memory so we should cut him and pick up someone with more upside. Ideally a big with length and athleticism.

Not super enamored with Sanogo, either, and would look at possible upgrades, whether from UDFA, euros, or just plain old FA.

Yeah we can cut him loose too for all I care, but Funk has got to be first on the chopping block.

Re: 2024 draft (Potential 2 way picks)
I personally dont think that any of Bitim, Sanogo, Drell or Funk showed they are worth an actual NBA rosters spot or ever really will be. They looked like EuroLeague or G-League players to me. With that in mind, why bring any of them back? I'd wipe the slate clean and bring in 3-4 new guys in hopes you have 3-4 new chances at finding young talent.
Hell if anything guys like Terry and Phillips should be the 2-way contracts and we should have actual NBA players on roster spots but thats just me

I agree, except that I think Phillips showed NBA level play last season, but the rest, not so much. Terry can have this season, but we shouldn't option him for next season. The guy we really missed the boat on was Freeman-Liberty. He's a legit NBA talent and it was obvious when he was here.

Re: 2024 draft (Potential 2 way picks)
Does anyone know if we can keep Sanogo on another 2 way deal or is there a one year limit for that? I'm a little hesitant to cut him loose, but definitely don't want to count on him as a 2nd string C on our nba roster, and there may not be room for 3 centers considering we'll probably only keep 14 guys one of which is Lonzo.

I'm almost positive we can resign him on a 2way. Did we do that with guard Carlic something?

He's actually not that bad. I would start Sanogo at C over Billy's preference of Torrey Craig or whoever lol.

In the unlikely event somebody really special gets missed by the other 29 teams the real best bet is sticking with the guys from last year unless they really looked that bad. Drell and Sanogo, that's how you develop players is by hanging on to them and teaching them and working on what they lack. If you change your two way players every year, you're looking for instant results and that's just dumb.

I agree. Drell is the most intriguing due to his length, athleticism, and defensive potential, but he still seems pretty raw and probably isn't young enough to warrant serious development time. If he could become a knockdown shooter he'd be a keeper, but like Dalen Terry, his shot seems pretty far off.
Bitim showed almost nothing and he got a fairly extended look at the NBA level and Sanogo was born 20 years too late
I'm fine with moving on from all of them and bringing in a new batch of young development guys, preferably with higher ceilings or at least a single skill where they could conceivably contribute at the NBA level. I guess that's what Funk is supposed to be with his 3-point shot, but in the limited time I've seen him as well as G League highlights he looks like a clear cut non-NBA player.

I'm not thrilled with this regime's scouting ability. I like the Buzelis pick, but from what I understand of him they didn't scout him too much because they expected him to be gone by the time they picked.
AKME doesn't have a good record when it comes to their draft history and two-way/development signings.
Draft
Pat: bust
Simonovic: non-NBA talent
Ayo: great pick
Terry: bad pick
Phillips: too early to tell, but he looks somewhat promising
Two-Way
Devon Dotson: too small and unskilled
Tyler Cook: non-NBA talent
Malcolm Hill: non-NBA talent
Carlik Jones: too small
Terry Taylor: end of the bench guy
We've already addressed Bitim, Sanogo, Drell, and Funk and none of them are likely to be NBA contributors. It's easy to say oh these two-way signings are meaningless, you can't hold that against AKME, but good teams find the occasional contributor out of these fringe singings and we don't.
But to be fair, GarPax wasn't exactly setting the world on fire with their fringe guys either. I think the best player the Bulls have found via a two-way contract since they came into existence in 2017 is Ryan Arcidacono. That says a lot.
