Offensively he's as impactful as LeBron ever has been. Defense is the difference though.

Overall? No one has been better since LeBron peaked. Kobe, Durant, Curry, Kawhi. Jokic simply during this peak is a step above.

Best feel for the game, ever. Best court vision, ever. Most in control player I've ever seen. It'll be easier to accept after his prime, but he has as good of a case as anyone for best offensive player of all time. Jordan, LeBron, Jokic stand on their own imo

Highest BBIQ in the game possibly ever

I don't know about that. Just because it's so hard to specify. I think he's in the convo, and I think his feel, control, and court vision is the best ever. Overall BBIQ? Not sure.

His vision feel and control of the game comes from his BBIQ. So if they are the best ever… then

All this talk about injuries and yet Jamal Murray missed more games than Kyrie and Jokic played 7 more games than Luka.

Don't even mention how Luka is 6 wins behind Jokic.

No I don't think Luka has an argument. He is 2nd or 3rd along with SGA.

That sums it up, but it also explains why team-focused Mavs media are hyping Luka, BPM of 10.1 is rare, that's more than Embiid last year at 9.2, more than Harden MVP season, and it's rare to have this kind of impact and not win MVP, since 2010, only Giannis (2021) and Harden (2019), had double digit BPM and didn't win MVP.
I'm glad there is no national media push for Luka, I would hate it to have the Embiid scenario happen to him this year.
Congrats to Jokic, if he wins FMVP this year, serious talks should start about highest 5 year peak ever, insane level of basketball IQ, leadership, strength and determination, all substance no nonsense, a true joy to watch for all fans.
Defense wins draft lotteries!

Jokic decides to turn it up an extra notch when he goes against Gobert, AD, and Wemby

Yeah, no way he's comfortable with being in a toxic discussion where the other candidate is his great friend Dončić.

Dončić will end up having one of the best non-MVP seasons of all-time. Sucks, but Jokić is simply too good. I thought he was the MVP already, but he probably locked it up in the eyes of the voters tonight as well.

Every time someone tries in the year 2024 to argue with PER i think it’s a burner account from Hollinger, desperately trying to stay relevant

It's easy to win MVP when you have Christian Braun.

SGA and Luka still have a realistic path to win MVP. Would involve the Nuggets dropping 1 of their remaining games and the Mavs+Thunder winning their remaining 2 games

Murray said “We got home court” after last night’s game. They won’t rest or half-ass the final 2 games.

Voting for anyone but Jokic for MVP is wrong on so many levels.
He is that good, he is one of the all-time greats, and he deserves that recognition.
Luka and SGA are amazing but they still do not compare, it is that simple.

Thought i saw somewhere that Jokic is at -5000 favorite to win another MVP. That basically confirms it.

If they lose this game against Minnesota they'll currently be 3 seed because they lose tiebreaker with OKC, if they win they're in the driver's seat for 1 seed.

The race has been over for a while now. Realistically, it was over once Embiid went down, but practically speaking it was over a few weeks ago when the gambling sites put Joker at -5000 to win MVP (an insurmountable mark this late in the year).

At this juncture, Luka is just making a statement for next year.

It was actually the final straw poll that locked it up. Luka had at least decent odds to win MVP before that. The betting market followed Jokic getting 85 first place votes to Luka’s 1 in the straw poll.

Jokic probably sealed it despite Luka being absolutely deserving. Jokic and the Nuggets have just been more consistent over the year and they keep kicking ass in the clutch. Mavs likely finish 4th or 5th and it's probably what keeps Luka from getting MVP.
