That’s why when you have the opportunity to go out and sign FVV in free agency you need to do it because for the most part free agency is dead and you can’t assume anyone good is ever gonna make it to the market.

Lol. The last thing we need is another guy who can't score efficiently.

And Houston is now pay $43 mill a year for a 17pnt 8 ast 17% usages rate ...point guard that would take away the facilitating duties which we wanted our Paolo and Franz to grow into. This might have made us to take a step back..... but those two continued to grow into those roles..... and now we are a young team in the playoffs.

Now we know what they are a lil more than last season.... and hopefully we use the money even better this year. Whether that is a big catch or.... smaller deals or resigning that would help us to push this even further.

For some reason I feel like this season will show us a lot!

I just dont buy into the whole "We wouldnt be able to see Paolo & Franz grow into their skills if we had a legit PG" narrative.

FVV's usage is only 19.6%, and has gone up past couple weeks due to Sengun being out. For comparison sake, Fultz is at 19.1% usage this season.

FVV could have allowed us to see more growth from Paolo & Franz, by simultaneously giving them another ball handler to lean into and set them up for more easy baskets & far better spacing. He's making 3 3's a game at 38.0%!

So many posters acted like FVV would be ball hogging away from Paolo & Franz but he clearly hasnt held back Sengun or Jalen Green's development.

It is def gonna be addition by subtraction of WCJ, Ingles, Fultz and Cole. Thats about 50 mill worth of salary of horrid players haha. Im hoping we get one of Clax/Harten and one of monk/klay. For role players I want one of Naji Marshall, DeAnthony Melton, KCP or Trey lyles.

Do any of you actually trust Mr. Evaluate What We Have Weltman to get aggressive and actually change 4-5 of the rotation players from this year’s team?

Agree...it's a ridiculous narrative. Paolo would laugh at anyone suggesting that a real PG or additional backcourt scoring is unnecessary because "he can just do it".

Laughable.

And if it turns out a FVV type didnt get us all the way but only to a better level of performance, well then move him on as hes probably still a positive asset. At least during that period your young players developed faster and further.

When will people figure FVV contract was signed because Rockets needed to fill up salary cap, had no 2024 first round pick AND only signed him on 2+1 years ?

FVV can be in last year of his contract next year. His 2025-2026 contract, $44,8M is team's option.

If FVV suck next year they can simply drop him.

So if he is good, no problem paying him 44.8M?

Why in the hell would you change 4-5 players? This has been a good to great season.

Trent is so some much of a better fit than VanVleet, anyhow. And a 80M three year deal, or 110M four year deal probably gets that deal done.

p.s. I am giddy at the idea of flipping G-Harris and Fultz contracts into a Trent signing. PLEASE!

We pay $41M for Ingles, G. Harris and Fultz.

One missed 30 games due injuries, other is 36 years old and third has been broken since 2017.

Good players are expensive. You end up paying somebody money anyway.

GTJ is a black hole on offense and bad on defense. All he gives you is shooting. not necessarily opposed as long as they dont overpay for that.

well, if you look at the roster.

Okeke - gone
Goga - gone
Fultz - gone
Houstan - tbd
Harris - tbd
Ingles - tbd
Mo - tbd

so depending on any possible trades, that could be 4-5 players changed

I think Ingles will be back because he's like having another coach.
