I don't think Wemby will stop looking like an alien any time soon, so there's no fundamental reason it can't be timeless, but Wemby will have to have the right personality for it. There's a humor to it that needs to remain charming rather than become irritating.

Nai-kee in American English.

Nike (like Pike) according to Andrew Tate. And he is the top G, so that has to mean something.

Are we talking about that Andrew Tate that was in prison in Romania with human-trafficking charges?

K should be silent, don't know who decided otherwise. It's like Kofi Cockburn deciding the ck is silent and it's pronunced Coburn.

No **** homie, you don't get to decide that. There's a c#ck in your name and you have to deal with it.

Knecht is not an English word, though. It's German and you pronounce the K. Can't blame them for staying truer to the original pronunciation, although the way the ‘ch’ is pronounced hurts me a little bit every time (but it's a difficult sound to make for an English speaker, so I can understand).

Not liking it. It looks really wacky for a logo in my opinion.

Too much stuff going on, without being that identifyable.

The sneakers look like they are going heavy on the Alien theme. Glow in the dark soles, galaxy theme all over including laces, alien symbols on the back and on inside.

I love how clean and simple it is. You know exactly what you're looking at as soon as you see it, and the association with Wemby is instant, which is what you want with a personal logo like this.

So many individual player logos recently have just been "Wildly overcomplicated, overdesigned initials" that make people work to even comprehend what the heck they're looking at, and that is not the recipe for lasting iconography.

Nike and Mike not being pronounced the same way was always mind boggling to me when I was learning English in school

english is just bizarre. there are actually lots of those examples that you gave, pronunciation wise.

Uh, maybe, but Nike is Greek, not English. Why is this so hard to grasp?

If you just pronounce it like you do with Knight, it sounds way closer to the german pronounciation.

Yes, Knecht is a german word and they pronounce the k, but it's barely audible.
It's not that far off from Knight at all.

These guys are doing the Kuh and the Koh's when saying it for Pete's sake. It's almost like they are calling two names instead of one, they even pause between KUH/KOH and the Necht.

English in general is completely wack when it comes to pronunciation, there really is nothing like it at all. Not hard language to learn, but their pronunciation system is something else. Thats why these guys see name BJELICA or AVDIJA, and have no clue how those words make the sound that it does lol. And I know, if you are Spanish, letters C and J also sound different thank most other Euro languages, but I think you can still make sense why BJELICA sounds the way it does, to all of us, Bjelica is pronounced exactly the way it is spelled, but some North Americans thought it was Bee-Jell-lick-ka

Yeah, English spelling is insane.

The mispronunciations of a name like Bjelica is only due to one of two things:

1. Not knowing the rules for how to pronounce that country's letters

2. Stupidity

3. (I'll add one) Not caring/passive-agressive xenophobia

I don't think it really has anything to do with English spelling being so haphazard, though it certainly is.

EDIT: The way you said some pronounce Bjelica is probably exactly how it would be pronounced if it were an American name, so that would almost certainly fall under #1 on my list.

Honestly, number three isn't fair. One of my biggest annoyances is how people expect you to pronounce names correctly, and a lot of Americans twist themselves in knots trying to. You see it on media all the time. If your name is non standard in the language of whoever is speaking it, don't expect them to pronounce it right. I don't think they should even make an effort. If I'm going to Japan I expect the same in reverse and I won't cry xenophobia about it. I'd have a weird name in Japan and they shouldn't have to try to figure it out unless they're family.
