It’s not really a knock on Kispert. His opportunities to shine have mostly come late in the season when the Zards have had nothing to play for and guys like Beal, KP and Kuz are taking games off. I give Kispert props for stepping up when given the opportunity.

I would probably do something like 3/$36 million. Shooters get paid, he'd easily get the MLE from a team like Orlando.

I'd go 4/$50M with descending annual salaries.

Over the 4 seasons, that would be:
2025-26 $14.2M
2026-27 $13.1M
2027-28 $11.9M
2028-29 $10.8M

Four years from now when we are hopefully good, it'll be nice to have a guy like Kispert coming off the bench making just $11.9M at a time when the MLE is $16.9M.

You’re right. Shooters get paid and if you have a good one like Kispert you don’t look to trade them. Unless, of course, you get an offer you can’t refuse.

Interesting to hear Kispert talk about his consistency. I just looked up the numbers and was blown away.

Over the course of the entire season, he didn't have a single 3-game stretch with a TS% below .500! He only had three 2-game stretches with a TS% below .500. That's really incredible for a guy who scores his buckets from the perimeter.

There's a 100% chance that Kispert goes into either coaching or basketball media after his career is over.

My favorite answer was regarding the potential coaching search. Kispert knows EXACTLY what the team needs.

This is why people need to think very carefully before trading away Kispert willy-nilly:

Kispert is my sleeper breakout candidate. His shooting, IQ, and finishing are really elite and its hard to fail with those attributes. His offensive usage needs to outpace his defensive issues to make it happen, but if we can lock him into a Deni-type contract we have to take that shot.
Korver, Bojan, Redick, etc. All High IQ, elite shooters, that were much better from 28-32 than 23-26. I think Kispert will have a similar career path.

Redick made the playoffs in every season of his career except for his final two seasons when he was washed. The guy was never an All-Star, but he was always a winner. Korver made the playoffs in 14 of his 17 seasons. Bogdanovic made the playoffs in 7 of his 10 seasons. Shooting matters.

Josh Robbins probably knows more inside info than anyone else, so this is good news.

It sure does! Efficiency with volume is the secret sauce. :)

(Actually, Redick definitely wasn't washed his 2d to last season -- posted the highest TS% of his career, powered by shooting the 3 at 45.3%!!)

Kispert was in a shooting slump from 3 and the ft line most of the year and still had a TS of 62%.

Would be cool if Kispert got the same contract as Deni. He's probably a rotation player on any team in the league so I'm sure he'd have some trade value if it ever gets too crowded on the roster with wings.
Can't say I do. Who else gonna shoot?

Corey is a good stable horse, but I'm ready to ride a new one that can clear a higher bar.

Where is the new stable horse who can clear a higher bar coming from? Probably not from pick #26 in the weakest draft of my lifetime.

If something unexpected happens and we take Risacher #2, sure, we can move off Corey. If not I don't see the point.

It might make sense to trade Kispert if the Zards can get something of value for him…for me that would be a FRP, which I don’t see happening. I’m definitely not trading Corey for a second round pick.

Kispert and his 3pt shooting is a valuable weapon and I’d be happy to see him stay in a Zards uni if we can sign him to a good contract. Can’t say right now that I know what that contract is.
