Re: 2024 NBA Draft Thread
So it looks like Hawks will either:
- pick at #15 if we manage to make the playoffs.
- pick at #10 if we stay exactly where we are and lose in the play-in. (most likely scenario)
- or pick in the top-4 if we get lucky in the draft lottery.

Re: 2024 NBA Draft Thread
Is this kid the next MPJ or the next Harrison Barnes?
Scouting from March 2024:
Scouting from March 2024:
The AthleticZaccharie Risacher | 6-8 wing/forward | 19 years old | JL Bourg
Risacher remains as the top draft prospect for now. It very well may not end this way, and draft workouts will play a critical role in the process. The NBA is constantly looking for big wing/forward types who can knock down shots, defend at a reasonable level and play with the ball in their hands. That makes Risacher the favorite right now to go No. 1; more teams will view his game as one that can fit into a valuable, flexible role for their teams. The race is WIDE open at No. 1, but [as of mid-March], I think Risacher would be the pick for more teams than any other prospect.
The French wing has produced at a high level in EuroCup competition. Through March 13, in total EuroCup and French League games, he’s averaging 11.4 points while shooting 49.4 percent from the field, 44.7 percent from 3 and 69.4 percent from the free-throw line. He’s rebounding at a reasonable rate for a wing and has shown some passing and decision-making chops. His jumper looks ready for the NBA, with great touch off the catch and when Bourg runs him off movement actions. He cuts well to the rim and creates buckets in transition. On defense, Risacher is sharp as a help defender and cuts off angles with his length, especially when operating as the low man in ball-screen coverages. On the ball, he’s defended guards at times with mixed results, to the point where I think he’s best served against the two through four positions.
The worry: Risacher is not a good shot creator at this point. The difference between him and someone like current Charlotte Hornets rookie Brandon Miller is the latter knew how to play with more poise to create his own shots in pick-and-roll situations, particularly from the midrange area. Risacher doesn’t have those skills yet. He also doesn’t yet have the explosive first step to beat anyone or enough flexibility to shake opponents off the dribble. Still, he doesn’t turn 19 until April, so there’s a ton of room between where he is now and what he will be at his peak.

Isaac Okoro...but with a jump shot?
Spoiler:
Bleacher ReportPacome Dadiet
Position: SF/PF
Size: 6'8", 210 lbs
Age/Year: 18
Pro Comparison: Isaac Okoro
Pacome Dadiet has turned into a regular shooting threat with range and a reliable two-point pull-up. At 6'8", he's flashed the right tools, shotmaking potential, finishing, activity and motor for an NBA off-ball role, and that's while playing this entire season in the German League and EuroCup at 18 years old.

Bleacher ReportJa'Kobe Walter
Position: SG/SF
Size: 6'5", 195 lbs
Age/Year: 19, Freshman
Pro Comparison: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
After struggling during the Big 12 tournament, Ja'Kobe Walter scored 19 and 20 points, respectively, against Colgate and Clemson. He showed exactly what the scouting report read all season—catch-and-shoot shotmaking, physical line-driving and limited creativity off the dribble.
In 35 games, he had 75 threes, 145 made free throws and just 50 assists, numbers that clearly reflect his strengths and weaknesses.
Walter figures to interest late-lottery to mid-first-round teams who could use more wing depth and see a three-and-D rotation player.

Pass for me.Jamaaliver wrote:This player could be a long term option at Center and will likely be available in the 2nd round. His floor is useful backup. Probably league avg starting Center on his best day.Bleacher ReportAdem Bona | C | UCLA
Size: 6'10", 245 lbs
Age: 21, Sophomore
Nationality: Turkish/Nigerian
Pro comparison: Isaiah Jackson
NBA teams should know what they're getting and what they're not with Adem Bona. He can bring instant defensive activity/switchability and athletic finishing. And he'll remain a threat in the post with his drop steps into hooks. Being foul- and turnover-prone will just mean a reduced role, likely one off the bench for the foreseeable future.
Zero range and in don't see much upside.
