Portland was giving GS trouble and collapsed in the 4th, as expected, but sigh....

6th seed Pelicans (48 wins): @GS (2nd night of a b2b), vs LA.
7th seed Suns (47 wins): @kings, @wolves
8th seed Kings (45 wins): Suns (2nd night of a b2b), blazers
9th seed GS (45 wins): Pels (2nd night of a b2b, but rested Klay and Dray), Jazz
10th seed Lakers: (45 wins): @mem, @pelicans

So we are obviously rooting for the Pelicans. Hopeflly Zion is good to go, hurt his wrist, but came back in the 3rd it seemed like. Why cant BI be back for that damn game....

If GS wins, then that messes things up and were likely in the 9 or 10 spot

But then I think we are rooting for the Suns to beat the Kings then since I dont realistically see the Kings losing to Portland

Then we end up 9th if we win out....shoot

Season may be depending on the Pels winning tomorrow night

That said, there is no guarantee they survive the play-in. What a weird team.

Best shot to beat Denver as in win one game? Sure. I could see them stealing a game if Denver goes cold and the Lakers just shoot the lights out.

Win a 7 game series? The only way that happens is with a Nikola Jokic injury. I mean this seriously, if both teams are healthy, the Lakers could play the Nuggets in a series 100 times and they’d win 0 times.

Read on Twitter

Lakers are a lot of teams bogey matchup but Denver is theirs. Why seeding matters to an extent. I swear someone else would have taken them out in this year's west.

If that really is the case then man I simply don't get it. He has 45+ more years to build an empire, after the disastrous 2022 season he only had a limited number of years playing basketball left, why not make the most of them in a place he can contend?

I personally considered him the GOAT after 2017 and since then his lead has extended every year (frankly I think he has a larger gap on Jordan than Jordan does on Kareem at this point), but he is by no means the consensus GOAT for the general public. The best way to change that, unfortunately, is rings, yet it seemed to have stopped being a priority for him.

So I assume they need the next 2 and for both GSW and Kings to drop 1 game each.

Those tie breakers sure hurt.

Maybe he considers himself the GOAT as well, and he probably understands that it's pretty much impossible to be the consensus GOAT after MJ's narrative driven career.

I highly doubt LeBron cares about being the consensus GOAT by the general public.

I don't think LeBron would uproot his family right now to chase rings, but I could be wrong. He did win a ring in LA either way.

Maybe he doesn't see another place as a surefire way to maximize his chance of winning a ring + the family thing.

He cares about winning obviously, but there's no shot he cares what the general public thinks of his legacy.

Sure and he's probably satisfied with his legacy in his own mind.

If I was him, I wouldn't care whatsoever what the general public thought of my legacy.

It really is BS that the IST championship win doesn’t count. Sure would be helpful right now.

I agree with this. I would be the same. He and plenty of people he knows consider him the GOAT. I think a good portion of NBA fans have him as GOAT.

That would be more than enough for anyone.

He genuinely seems to love basketball though so I think he does what he loves.

Yeah. Don’t really disagree anywhere here, and that’s why it seems the notion James would go to be a Knick or 76er next year seems preposterous to me. Might be coming from the bias in the sense I wouldn’t really enjoy it / it would seem weird, but I’m really not seeing the case & think he probably retires here - for better or for worse. Bron’s still got gas in the tank Imo, and I don’t know when he’ll hit that dreaded “E”.

Yea that’s exactly what they need. That would set up an 8-7 game with (1) the Suns if they don’t beat MN (2) the Pelicans otherwise.

Every single game the opponent feasts from 3 because Dardumbass doesn’t realize you can’t leave teams open in 2024

Every bum ass team plays the Lakers like it's Game 7 of the Finals. There's no such thing as an easy game in today's NBA as it is given the power of the 3 ball, but even more so for the Lakers. Every team gets up to play them.

43 3pters given up also has to be an NBA record for consecutive games. Never change, Ham. Keep sticking to that scheme.

DLo starting to show his true colors as games start mattering more and more. At least 2 more stinkers on the way for him.

This team isn't going anywhere.

LaRivia is doesn’t miss shots at all—put him in a Lakers’ uniform and he’d shoot 34%.

Lakers lost their mojo after the injuries hurt them the past two games and then the Warriors making 50 threes. Currently, Trey Murphy, who’s been very good this year along with Alvarado, is making 35 foot three pointers

Pels to beat GSW
Suns to beat Kings

Only path for Lakers to get to 8th.
