Indiana most likely finishes 6th with the pick being 18/19

Yep, seems like it.

Tonight Atlanta started all their main guys, but then by basically the second half they knew the result of the Chicago game and realized they couldn't catch them. So their closing lineup consisted of Bufkin, Krejci, Matthews, Fernando, and Gueye (yep, they've got one too). Not exactly the sign of a team trying to win a game.

It'll be very hard for Indy to lose their game on Sunday if that's any indication.

Sucks that the pick is gonna be like 19th overall.

Again, there's really not much of a talent discrepancy between the 10th best player and 20th best player in this draft but it would've been nice to get first dibs.

Not saying the Raptors would have beat the Pacers but aren't we glad we sat a couple of our guys against the Pacers a few games ago. It made absolutely no difference to where we stand but it could have made the Pacers pick drop like 5 slots and maybe even more if they somehow lost in the play in. Raptors masterclass lol.

Ya most likely but I would have respected the process. It's why I still get annoyed that we didn't try tanking for Wemby even if we didn't get him last year. The right process makes you trust the people in charge and thats why sometimes you have to value process over results.

Same. It's called doing things half measured. This has happened about 3 or 4 times in the past.

This makes no sense.

1) Raptors clearly preferred to ensure they have the best chance of keeping their pick with some uncertainty they could fall to 7th worst if they win.

2) The Raptors weren’t beating a pretty healthy Pacers without Barnes playing. Your whole premise is based on something that essentially was never going to happen. Saying “Raptors masterclass” sarcastically makes no sense in this situation.

I actually thought he was going to be the best player from the draft class. It's crazy how he's hardly improved.

I don’t get the vibe he loves basketball

That is so crucial with drafting guys and it’s something that we as fans will never have insight to as we do our mocks and draft boards

Every single player in the nba is supremely talented. The difference between most, not all but most, is who loves the grind? Who loves to train and get better day in and day out?

If guys treat it like a job, show up punch the clock, do the minimum, go home, they aren’t going to keep getting better.

They have to first love the game and second love the grind. If you can find a team of that, you’ll have a very solid foundation. I think that is the premise of HEAT culture, guys who live/love to work.

There is no way Indy loses that game tomorrow but who cares, we've put ourselves in a position to keep the better pick. In a draft like this one, the difference between #14 and #20 is negligible.

Same. The Hawks would much rather deal with the Pacers in the play-in than Sixers.

Am i Correct to determine that pick can still be #20 despite the fact Pacers can’t catch Cavs/Suns anymore.

IF

Pacers win
Philly losing
Orlando losing

And Suns losing both 2 of their play-in game and miss the playoffs and one of Sacramento / GS made it leapfrog them in the playoffs.

I am not sure about tie break though therefore i might not be 100% accurate.

So hoping for:

Hawks beat the Pacers
Heat beat the Raptors
Philly beat BK
Orlando beat Milw
Lakers beat Pelicans
Kings beat Blazers

I believe you’re right

At that point with the ties, it turns into a series of coin flips

Raps would have to lose multiple coin tosses…which seems very Raptorsy

Still crazy that so much playoff positioning is coming down to the last game of the season.

I think it’s more likely that the pick is below 18 than over 19

But indeed #18 or #19 are arguably most likely outcome.

Everything would have to go wrong for it to be 20.
Its gonna be 18 or 19 unless ATL plays out of their mind. Philly a lock
