Yeah the pelicans easily pass on this. Nothing in here is interesting for them

Re: NOP = UTA, four players, one pick
I think the problem in here lies in how OP described the Jazz team needs... versatile wing and backcourt size. Yeah, them and almost everyone else. Those are extremely scarce positions.
Inefficient scoring combo guard and non-shooting big... less scarce positions. Not saying that the Jazz players here aren't good, young versions of those positions. But the players they're getting back are good, young players too. one 1st round pick isn't going to convince a team to give up good young players at extremely valuable positions for less good young players at more readily available positions.

Couldn’t have said it better. Especially like the 9th pick in one of the worst drafts in recent memory

Thanks for the feedback. Could it work with additional incentive from the Jazz?

Maybe Daniels for Kessler would work?
I don't see the Pels trading Murphy for this type of package though. He's the most sought after archetype in the NBA. George is having a good rookie season but he's another 6'-3" small scoring guard that doesn't defend and there's already a glut of those type players around the league.

I like the Kessler for Daniels swap that has been proposed a few times. Daniels is a nice fit for us, and I think Hendricks will be able to play center. If not, we will have plenty of picks to find one. I like Walker a lot, good player, great personality - so I'd love to keep him - but if we trade him to NOP that's more realistic and still fits our needs well.

It kinda makes sense for both teams. The Pels could save quite a bit of money since Kessler's on a cheaper rookie deal and they wouldn't need to re-sign Valancuinas in free agency. They already have Herb as their big guard/wing defender too.

Yeah Trey isn’t really on the table. I’m sure there is some type of package that the Pels would accept I’m just not sure what it would be because Trey is worth a lot to the Pels. He’s a perfect to compliment their best guys at a league wide area of need. Plus he’s got one more year at the rookie scale and leverage on the next contract.
Kessler is valuable because he’s got starter level production at the rookie scale for 2 more years. But nothing short of Lauri gets Trey.
Pels are one of the 12 (!!!) teams that consider themselves a playoff team in the West next year, and so draft capital especially this year has limited appeal.
