2024 PLAYOFFS Round 1 LAC VS MAVS
Hello every , I am not trying to steal the limelight from moderators but just wanted to get the party started here.
Also , anyone care to vote on the game thread over on the general board. It looks like Mavs fans are 3-1 on there.

Believe it or not, the Clips are the 3rd favorite for the title on Draft Kings
and slight favorites vs the Mavs at MGM

Zubac led the league in FG% against inside the restricted area, yes, led, not one of the leaders, but #1.
So the question is how do you keep Zubac on the court vs Kyrie and Luka so that he isn't switched into bad matchups and taken advantage of.
I would say the Clippers need to add a pre-switching strategy.

In addition, utilizing some hedging as needed to keep the paint/rim protection on the floor and safe.
There's no limelight to be stolen, anyone can start the thread, just so you know for future, no rules about mods having to start game threads. Esqtvd starts most of them for example.

Anything that makes the NBA Cup *seem* important helps the bottom line.
- Before we get all anecdotal, before we dig up the complaints and criticisms of the NBA’s inaugural in-season tournament, before we address the future of the neon-red courts or argue over alternatives to tiebreakers decided by point differentials, let’s state the obvious: The in-season tournament has been an unqualified success.
Just look at the numbers. Local viewership for group-play games was up 20% from games played last November. National games shot up 26%. League Pass viewership for the seven group-play nights increased by 25%. The league’s average attendance (18,206) was the highest for November, while the NBA’s app and social channels had their best first month of the season (3.9 billion video views) ever.

Me, I liked when baseball's All-Star Game gave the winners home field for the World Series. [They stopped in 2017.]

This play-in thing is much more interesting than the #8 limping into the playoffs only to get swept by the #1. Wait until the ratings come in.
And Jimmy Butler's Heat made it to the Finals. Commissioner Nosferatu is rubbing his hands in glee. I hate him but like Hyman Roth, his job is to make money for his partners. I would not be watching a #1 vs #8 Game 1 right now.
My other team, the Sixers, can get a clear path to the ECFs tomorrow with a win. Knicks then Bucks. This is interesting as hell.

The road to the playoffs may get very gifted... or cursed.
1. Thunder will now face either Kings or Pelicans. Kings would be easier, but Pelicans... Maybe that's why New Orleans tanked: to hope to draw the Clippers as their 2nd round opponent since they have their number.
2. Nuggets now face Lakers in a rematch. Had Lakers dropped to 8th, Clippers would have had a Battle Of L.A. in the 2nd round; now it's probable in the conference finals.
Good news: Clippers won't have to face their deadly nemeses, Thunder and Nuggets, as other teams will do it for them.
Bad news: Clippers will be forced to face teams they have lost season series to. And like I said in previous posts, they now have the power to automatically sweep them out of the playoffs. Don't forget about Timberwolves, Clippers have lost the season series to them as well.
But there is a silver lining: no Chris Paul.
(Best zinger ever)
And what have we learned, kids? Good things begets good karma. By taking the Warriors seriously as a title contender with a season series victory, Clippers won't have to see Warriors at all in the playoffs.

You've got to be kidding me. There isn't even a Lakers or Kings home game that day. It's this type of BS that makes me think the NBA schedule makers are still going to screw us over at Intuit.

A matinee game 1 at home with possibly no Leonard. Hopefully the rest of the Clippers can rub the sleep from their eyes before halftime for a playoff game.

Re: 2024 PLAYOFFS Round 1 LAC VS MAVS
Nobody is trying to screw us. ABC has the 10am and the 1230. TNT has the later games. Each network has an EC and a WC game. Eastern Conference has the earlier game on both networks. They aren't having the 8th seed play Friday night and then Sunday afternoon. So, we end up with the later ABC game, but the earlier of the 2 WC games because both teams are rested.
This is why you can never worry about the matinee games during the season. Teams have to play matinee games in the playoffs.
Looks like we played 8 home matinee games this year and no road matinees. Looks like The Mavs only did so 2 or 3 times. I think that gives us an advantage in the preparation department.

Too much "Dallas is going to win" talk for my liking. Add Kai Jones to the mix if possible. IDGAF, whatever and whoever it takes to win, lets do it!
