I’m confident in Cade playing. Ingram, not as much. Max contracts are sooo risky. You sign the wrong guy and you put your team back for years. You can even sign the right guy and they get injured. Big risks.

In Cades first 3 seasons, he’s averaging 46 games played.
If you take out last season, he’s averaging 63.
It’s rare to see players become more durable as they grow into their prime.
I’m hoping for the best but I’m not expecting it.

Screw Ingram. Go after Zion. Cade/Zion combo would be absurd.
Fill out the team in free agency.

I’m confident in Cade playing…. Poker on team flights. Basketball? Not so much. Pistons should really find out the market for Cade. I have a sinking feeling that we’re bidding against ourselves on this extension (which we don’t even need to do…..)…..

Atlanta is 5 minutes from the end of their season. Tray Young is not worth his contract. Him or Murray (or both) are gone for sure.
Hunter? Murray?

This offseason is going to be crazy.
Trade Cade for Trey Young?
Trade our 1st round pick for Ingram?
Trade our 1st round pick for Zion?
Trade our 1st round pick for Lauri?
Actually select a player with our 1st and retool our roster?
It's about to get real interesting!

If you’re confident in Cade you don’t want to trade for Trae Young.

I'm confident in Cade, not confident in giving him max money and being an able body on the floor throughout multiple seasons.

Then you aren’t confident in him. Because that’s what it will take.
To me if you trade for Trae you’re moving on from Cade. Because I don’t see that duo ever working.

I like the way you’re thinking except for Trae. I’d rather have a maxed Cade than the already maxed Trae.
I’m down w all the other ideas, but…
Does our 1st bring in Ingram, Zion or Lauri? I don’t think that’s enough. But all 3 would help a lot.
So for the last idea, I know it isn’t sexy, but getting Sarr or Risacher isn’t a bad thing for the long run. We still got our cap space to use and trade w some of our young guys.

I’d be happy with grant if he’s happy to be the 3rd option. His shooting and defence would be ideal next to duren

Idk I'm just feeling the doom and gloom of this franchise. There are 5 guys I'd like but they are injury prone. Stack one injury prone player with ours in Cade and I feel like it's a disaster waiting to happen on top of the disaster that has already happened. I truly don't know where to go at this point.

Agree on the not trading Cade for Trae idea.
Also strongly thinking that making our actual draft pick is the way to go. Last shot(hopefully)at our lottery ticket that might give us a future star(being very optimistic)
Then use our cap space in signings and trades.
Plus, let's be honest, it's just plain old fashioned fun to see who our teams drafts on draft night lol.

Me too. I'd still love to poach him and Brogdan into our cap space. Cade and Ivey really need a vet presence at PG to settle the team down and provide that leadership we desperately need.

Absolutely Murray is on such a incredible team friendly contract. 3 more years at just 28.5 per for age 28,29,30 seasons then a PO at 31. This contract is so good if it doesnt work out we will be able to recoup value on what we traded to add him in the first place. Hell we could even come out ahead on the 2nd trade from what we gave up to get him.
Murray isnt the best fit with Cade because hes best onball hence his 26.6% usage this season. Of course Ivey is also only good(except hes not good at all) onball except hes worse at every aspect of the game then Murray and he still has a 24.9% usage. Murray can at least hit a open 3pter at 36% 3pt and he has always been awesome at getting steals.
Murray is on a such cheap contract it will allow us to go after another 30mill per year player as well. Resign Tecch and get another impact player on the roster. We might have a 18-20 win improvement and be battling for the playin.

Definitely need to extend Fontecchio. And if we could get Murray plus another $30M player that’s a legit starter (and hopefully a PF), it’s going to be a significantly different team next year.

Man, some people are going to be disappointed here. Our pick this year doesn't have nearly the type of value some think it does. If we are hunting for an all-star, expect the price tag to be more like ivey, our pick, and stew ..... and then that all-star is probably still going to need to have some issues depressing their value.

The #1 overall pick is absolutely going to have value, but then your eyeing trading perhaps the next JJJ for whomever you land.
Sarr is deeply intriguing, and if he is like JJJ(I strongly recommend watching some games of his if you haven't)even a rookie version of him next to Duren is going to amazing.
A ton of what happens in the offseason, goes hand in hand with what that pick is. If its 1, you got options galore. 2, and your immediately limited, but still some options. If its **** #5 again, abandon ship people.
