Is he going to be the new Nate Pearson, that is always injuried and then eventually gets shifted to Bullpen, cause he can't pitch more than 3-4 innings or get stretched out, cause he's constantly rehabbing.

Martinez is the guy that could be that #5 hitter. Might be too early though.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Barger also ripping, second homer in two days, 10th double of the season, now with 21 RB1s. Top of the order in Buffalo packs a lot

My order would be:

Springer (RF)
Barger (LF)
Vladdy (1rst)
Turner (DH)
Martinez (2nd)
Bichette (SS)
Jano/Kirk (C)
Varsho (CF)
IKF (3rd)

Horwitz (1rst)
Schneider (LF)
_Kiermayer(CF)

Martinez and Bichette up the middle might be trouble.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

I would adjust significantly for lefties and righties, and not throw Barger and Martinez in against both until they adjust to the higher velocity, better spin rates of major league starters

For a left-handed starter

I'd see

Springer (RF)
Bichette (SS)
Vlad (1B)
Turner (DH)
Schneider (LF)
Janson/Kirk
Martinez (2B)
Varsho (CF)
IKF (3B)

For a right-hander

Springer (RF)
Barger (3B)
Bichette (SS)
Varsho (CF)
Vlad (1B)
Turner (DH)
Janson/Kirk
Schneider (LF)
Clement (2B)

It's flashback time to when a kid named Eric Pardhino was the Jays great pitching hope. Eric had big injuries, and so his career seemed to be over. We pretty much wrote him off. But he didn't write himself off. He's a one-inning reliever now at New Hampshire, and still just 23 so not too old for a prospect. He hasn't given up a run in his last six appearances. His ERA has come down from 4.67 to 2.13 over that span, and his WHIP has come down from 2.14 to 0.79. Is there anything there? I doubt we'll know until they test him at the next level, but it would be a great feel-good story if he gets to Buffalo and even MLB.

A bit of stability in the pitching ranks. Ranked prospects CJ Van Eyk and Adam Macko had their best starts of the season this week for NH, and Conor O'Halloran had a nice start in his debut in Vancouver.

This farm system is really depressing. Orelvis now looks like a platoon guy that can only take on leftys. Almost 10 years in and Shatkins Cupboard still bear.

He's a 22 year old with a .850 OPS in AAA. Probably best to hold judgment on that one.

Check his R/L splits. Not just this year but for his career. It has come up as a flag. He destroys lefties but struggles significantly with righties. He'll have to figure that out or he won't make it in the bigs. Not a small concern.

Beyond Orelvis - the bigger issue is that this organization only seems to be able to develop role players. A big part of why we are in last place with 200 million payroll.
