The neck thing is somewhat concerning. But I would take that gamble if everything checks out medically with him.

I'd probably lose my **** if he ends up being the pick.

Corbin says he was told that they're high on Verse. He along with Murphy could be their targets.

Do you have a preference among the two?

For sure... Nwosu was doing great, Mafe set a record... edge isn't a concern of mine. Get some pressure up the middle.

btw murphy looks like he has great eyes on what is happening, but i actually don't see great "moves" from either of them. they both just matriculate to the ball.

I like Verse. But Latu is clearly the better player. My biggest worry right now is Latu falls & ends up with a team like the Rams and is great for them.

Verse is the type of guy that will look good depending on the matchup. His speed-power won't always work against bigger, stronger Tackles.

I'm higher on Murphy. I see a lot of Jalen Carter in his game. But he doesn't have the character concerns. Which is a plus.

My Wishlist:

1. Latu
2. Murphy
3. Fautanu
4. Fuaga
5. Verse

I don't think Penix makes it to 16. A team like the Raiders will scoop him up.

Apparently, Byron Murphy has been told that he won't get past our pick! A lot of smoke connecting us to him.

So a few things on that chart... damn look how pervasive edge is. But fautanu looks like a safer bet than the DTs

Okay, it's prediction time!

Who are they taking?

Prior to last year's draft, I had a strong sense that Spoon would be the pick!

This time, I think it's Jared Verse!

He's everything they love in a prospect. A former 0-star recruit in high school. Sound familiar?

He plays with an edge & is tough. High motor. Great leader. He's exactly their type.

Macdonald is going to want someone with his skillset.

been in the hospital all day with my pop and trying to keep his mind on the draft while he deals with internal bleeding and pain.

So here is a few of my guesses:

My Hope:

1. Brian Murphy on a tradeback including a 2nd
2. Cooper Beebe
3. Junior Colson
4. Beau Brade S
4. Theo Johnson TE

My wild guess:

1. Trade back to late round for 2nd Penix
2. Junior Colson
3. T'vondre Sweat or Jenkins or Braden Fiske
4. Brandon Coleman G TCU or Puni G
4. James Williams S/LB or Malik Mustapha S

Guys I'm scared we do draft and then start immediately justifying:

Cooper Dejean
Spencer Rattler
Ty'Ron Hopper lb
Adisa Isaac and Braylen Trice Edge
Jaheim Bell
Any CB in the top 2 rounds

Guys I fringe like or would be surprised but cool with:
Cole Bishop S
Christian Mohogany G
Jenkins DT
Ben Sinott TE (does anyone try to stay in bounds, break tackles and stay on his feet like this dude in the draft?)
Ja'Tavion Sanders TE
Bo Nix
Malachi Corley WR
Jaylon Ford LB
Darius Robinson Edge
Mason Smith DT

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/40011273/what-seattle-seahawks-nfl-draft-rounds-16-overall-pick-trade

This one is interesting because it point to MM wanting to build a wall and how often he's employed giant DTs where as Murphy, Newton, and current DTs are not over 330... and Sweat could be the call

There's a lot of buzz that Murphy will be taken within the first 15 picks. Rumor that Chicago could take him at 9.

Same deal with Penix. I would be moderately shocked if he lasted to 16.

I don't like Rattler either. He's a career backup/journeyman in my mind. I would hate the pick.

There's a ton of buzz around Cooper. But I wouldn't love it. This draft has so many quality OL/DL prospects. They have to continue to get stronger in the trenches to be a more physical team & not get pushed around. It's been their biggest downfall for a few years now.

Spending more premium picks on Safeties is not the way to go.

OL, DL & LB should be their primary focus.

This guy is plugged in & has fairly reliable sources.

There has been recent buzz about the Seahawks taking Iowa cornerback/safety Cooper DeJean with the 16th-overall pick. For a long time, the consensus projection has been Seattle addressing needs on their offensive line. After landing two superb young cornerbacks in Devon Witherspoon and Riq Woolen in back-to-back drafts during the past two years, it does not seem like adding a nickel corner/safety like DeJean would be a top priority. However, Seattle general manager John Schneider loves to draft for the secondary and head coach Mike Macdonald comes from the Ravens organization, which invests heavily in defensive backs in the early rounds of drafts. Sources said DeJean could be a possibility for the Seahawks, especially if they trade down, and the Seahawks also really like Toledo cornerback Quinyon Mitchell. Seattle is a mysterious team, and it sounds like the offensive line is definitely a likely spot for the organization’s first-round pick, but DeJean and Mitchell are candidates as well.
