I don't think he pushed Mo at all, he went from a ball and Mo fell over legs of both players that were laying on the court already?? :o

We scored 14 points out of 37 pick-and-rolls we tried.

This is a sign we dont need a guard who can run pick and roll. What we are doing obviously works and bringing skilled guard could destroy that fragile balance we have.

You kidding, right? We scored 83 points on 86 shots & 32% FG on a team who isn't even top 10 defense

Yes, he most definitely WAS kidding!

Banchero is showing he's not, as of today, a point forward. He might be in the future, but he'd be much better letting someone else set the table for him. Let him find his spots and feed him there. Would up his efficiency massively. With Isaac in the starting lineup as a quasi-C, all we really need is a pnr initiator who has worth off-ball and can defend a bit. One guy would really transform this team.

Sign a shooter who can also swing the ball a little as a heavy-minute rotation guy (Bogdanovic type). Absolutely not Klay Thompson.

I don't see any other path. You could double down on Paolo as a point, but you need more offense than signing a wing shooter will give you, so you'd have to sign a KAT or AD type center and that feels like a lot of bodies in the paint, if Franz main value continues to be as a cutter/driver.

I'm 100% behind idea of combo guard addition.

Tbh this team is built in such fashion, that finding own Tyler Herro would be massive, imo.

I'll try to rewatch portions of a game, there were some things i picked but given game was live, i didn't pay too much attention to details, rather was exited to finally watch playoffs again. But i remember few plays where our offball movment was criminal. Bunch of people standing and watching.

Also if we want to beat Cavs we can't have situation where their guards are killing us AND in same time their bigs are dominating our bigs.
Cavs made nice adjusment how to avoid Isaac, when they go to layup, they know Isaac will follow, so several times they passed to cutting Allen for wide open dunks or passed out to wide open 3.

I think we either have to play Isaac with WCJ or Isaac with the bench but 30 min. We need a 2nd big to body Allen, when the Cavs play with both bigs. Paolo reacts way to slow to rotate in time & plays a bit soft & offers no rim protection as the only big next to JI against them. Or when he comes from the bench first, we at least have the chance to win the bench or 1 big Cavs minutes.
But in the end we have no rim protection outside JI, which hurts a lot in this series too. They doesnt respect WCJr. at all. As soon as Isaac was out in the 3rd they drove to the hoop at will. Goga would make sense in a vacuum, but his limited other skills probably create new problems.

For the Cavs. I think our biggest hope are LeVert minutes. Guy is just a dumb basketball player with zero vision.

Maybe Paolo needs to play defense like the big body he is…being a born mismatch on offense isnt enough. Lots of room to grow defensively there.

Playoffs just starting- but already clarifying needs and realities of players. KCP, Grayson, Klay-types wouldn’t have been enough…we need a combo guard that can create when needed. Buddy Hield couldn’t even get on the floor and Tobias was negligible. Suggs might have a big game or two but we need much more from our backcourt to become a real threat to good teams. Defense isn’t enough and 250 lb point forward isn’t enough. Franz was our best PG (by need) as a rookie but his distribution has dried up- he’s still very effective going to the rim…but he’s not creating for others enough…I think the Paolo/Franz vision is evolving a bit. I had hoped for 5+ apg for both but it’s not really trending that way.

Murray, Monk, Simons, Herro, Brogdon are more the “type” we need…like Jrue/White. Russell fits but he really seems to collapse every year.

I cant let p0peye be the most sarcastic poster on the board :nonono:

Lets be honest Paolo struggles with 3 good shooters (GHarris, Suggs, JI), and 1 potentially good shooter in Franz. There wont be much more space even with Klay or Hield.

We also had 2 screen asssits all game, both by Banchero, zero by our centres or anyone else. Wild stat. For comparison, Rudi Gobert had 11 screen asssists in the Wolves game.

The most obvious adjustment would be to shorten the rotation, but that comes with it's own set of potential headaches.

If Mosley eliminates Fultz from the rotation entirely, those minutes are going to go someplace else and it's not like Cole, Ingles or Gary really did anything to justify an uptick in minutes.

The issue is that like 6 of the 10 guys who played were all very bad. And if Mosley takes 1 or even 2 of those guys out of the mix, that just means more minutes for people who played poorly in game 1.

There's not really a great solution. Especially with Isaac capped around 28 MPG and Suggs typically not able to play in the upper 30s either.

Thats the problem with Isaac. He is not a great screener and not a good passer from the high post. Maybe he would be more efficient with a guard running pick and roll, but our offense was run heavily with WCJ handoffs. In the second unit we have more offensive options and thats why it clicked with JI during regular season.

Need to be real about this Cleveland team, they won 48 games while missing a combined 84 games from Mitchell, Garland and Mobley.

This is the probably the second best team in the East now that they are fully healthy. If they had stayed healthy all year they would probably be looking at 55+ wins.

Mitchell- 55 games played

Mobley- 57 games played

Garland- 50 games played

Our players were largely healthy all year

Paolo- 80 games played

Franz 72 games played

Suggs 75 games played.

Milwaukee was pretty healthy all year, Boston was pretty healthy all year, KP played 57 games but their other relevant players played 70+.

Knicks had guys out but they are now without Randle for the playoffs so applying the same logic here in projecting their postseason doesn't hold.

Going by this logic you would deductively assume that the Cavs are much better than ours. But this is why they play the games.

We can project all day long and formulate narratives but until you see what happens its all just some form of bs.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

Some perspective. Just the 2nd team in NBA history to play three players aged 22 or under 30+ minutes in a playoff game.

This is the right perspective, too. This is a very young, historically good, core.

You can't expect Paolo to all of a sudden change his game completely out of the blue. He's not a unicorn shot blocker 3point shooter like Mobley or Chet, he excels with the ball in his hands.

He needs to develop as a scorer more and refine his skillset but you cant add a point guard and then all of a sudden expect Paolo to be a post player.

This was THE FIRST playoff game of his career, relax buddy.
