The Celtics have won more championships since I've actively followed them than the Heat have in their entire franchise history. (Y'all only have 3, correct?)
They won 11 more before that while I was growing up around LA.
Most of those were Bill Russell and there were like 8 to 12 teams during that time, big whoop. There's more teams in one Conference now than there were in the entire NBA.
More teams makes it easier. Not harder.
The best player in the NBA wins the title almost every time. Not the best team.
You got a top 5 player? Top 7? You're winning the title.
If it's easier for the best player to just win the title today why doesn't anyone have more than 6 other than Jordan or Kareem? It's crazy to say Russell would have 11 with 30 teams he would not. Your argument makes it sound like he would have more because today it's easier.
The 60's: Not as competitive as more modern eras; fewer teams, smaller talent pool, worse coaching, worse physical fitness level of players due to lack of modern fitness training methods and nutrition, game and player's arsenal of moves is still in its infancy.
