The worst part of the Tobias Harris experience is that he’s bad in so many areas. He’s a low IQ, subpar athlete who is at best a league average shooter. He usually does enough to maintain the illusion that’s he’s a good NBA player but he can’t hold up when the competition gets real.

The sad part is that he could be an amazing spot shooter who can drive to the rim after someone collapses the paint, but he insists on his BS Carmelo Anthony post up.

It's not so much he's a bad player per se, is that his style of play is obsolete and he refuses to change. He should be on a Bobby Portis role.

The other thing is, he's a seriously horrible passer, so he's finishing the play or resetting it late on the clock

There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

The bolded part is so true, and is why it has puzzled me forever how many in the national (and local - Alaa, etc.) media continue the myth of him as some sort of underrated, all-star level but never an all-star player.

I guess all his years as a tank commander built this idea of a game that never really existed outside of non-pressure situations, yet was always propped up by the same media cliches, over and over. The fact that he has been so badly exposed in big games and crunch time situations over the last five years just shows how lazy so much of the media is, and why most are not worth the time to listen to or read, as they continue with the same tired, worn out hackneyed tripe.

I just think his processing speed & basketball IQ is abysmal, which is why he struggles so much and relies on those post ups. Anything requiring him to read/react is going to lead to bad results.

Harris's main problem is that he can't play facing the basket and finish at the rim in that manner. He should've spent every offseason developing the ballhandling skills necessary to do that. Consequently he's a back to the basket guy who backs his way in and takes midrange jumpers, with the occasional catch and shoot three.

Tobias is the stereotypical tank commander, a guy who needs the ball in his hands all the time to get in his rhythm but isn't nearly good enough to justify that. So he's forced off ball, where he doesn't really want to play and isn't entirely comfortable. This has been glaringly obvious for four years. On top of that now, I'm pretty sure dude is checked out, pun intended as he's going to hit FA.

They would've been better off keeping Horford and paying to dump Tobias. A little Captain Hindsight? Maybe. But still true.

And amazingly, we have people on here talking about bringing him back if the price is right. News alert for those people - there isn't a right price, or any price that would justify his return.

I've taken issue for years over the "it's because of the contract" garbage, as if Tobias doing what he's done for the last five years would've been acceptable at $18-20 mil. He was a square peg in a round hole from day one. When you have to completely go away from a player's comfort zone in order for him to fit, then there's a problem, and when his comfort zone is being ball dominant but not good enough to be a #1, #2, or even #3 option, there's a bigger problem.

Where the contract comes into play is only because at half the price he might have been easier to move the hell out of here. That's it. It was a hideous trade at the time, and was a far worse signing. That move alone should have cost Brand his job long ago.
